ChainRift | EOS Block Producer Candidate Application

OVERVIEW

ChainRift LLC (“ChainRift”) is a high-performance cryptocurrency exchange platform with the intention of helping propel the future of cryptocurrencies and decentralization. ChainRift was launched by a team of dedicated cryptocurrency activists, experienced developers and tenured traders, all eager to build products and services around the Bitcoin and crypto space.

We're presenting our candidacy as a block producer in order to secure the EOS blockchain and ensure the network operates in a resilient, reliable and efficient manner. Our priority is to empower the community through responsible scalability and a decentralized separation of roles and responsibilities.

With team members and investors based in Canada, Greece, Lebanon, Slovenia and Thailand, ChainRift EOS regroups 10+ experts, from development to software engineering and IT. We have extensive experience with blockchain technologies, software engineering and hardware solutions and we believe that we can significantly contribute to the EOS community.

Our vision for the EOS network is to contribute towards its evolution into a multifaceted platform that reduces the drawbacks of prior established smart contract systems, i.e, resource usage, scalability issues and turing complete security. In doing so, we also intend to capitalize on desirable blockchain attributes, censorship resistance, privacy and complete fungibility, ultimately leading to a functioning, decentralized platform.

INFRASTRUCTURE

ChainRift EOS’s main block producer node hardware configuration is a self-hosted HP Proliant Gen9 rack server configured with 64 cores and 512 GB of fully buffered DDR4 memory and 8TB SSD storage hosted in a 99.99 % uptime and secure DC in Ljubljana, Slovenia. We also work with a 2 x 1 Gbps fiber optics from different providers. All infrastructure specifications can potentially be provisioned on demand.

CREATIVE VISION

General

ChainRift EOS is dedicated to providing the EOS network with the necessary infrastructure to not only produce blocks in a decentralized manner but as well scale sufficiently to accommodate for increased user adoption. The team comprises of members who were early investors in the EOS ecosystem, and are consequently familiar with the community culture and values to support its overall evolution.

Technical

The ChainRift EOS team has the technical know-how and the experience to follow through with its commitment towards being a reliable block producer. This includes running and maintaining a fully functional node with technical know-how on standby for any unexpected developments.

Block rewards

If elected as block producers, we intend to reinvest block rewards back into the ecosystem to continue growing free and open-source software, centered around growing the EOS ecosystem. It is our belief that this “full circle” reinvestment philosophy is key towards a healthy and thriving network.

Exchange Platform

We believe that ChainRift can contribute heavily towards the EOS network through its value proposition as an agile cryptocurrency exchange - specifically through a potential branching out to offer a decentralized exchange service, as well as other decentralized projects that could be springboarded off of the EOS platform.

Position on Dividends

ChainRift EOS is entirely against the concept of “vote buying” or the sharing of Block Producer inflation rewards with unaffiliated votes. Our “full circle” reinvestment philosophy is intended to be fully transparent and eventually codified, with zero wastage of funds intended to go towards marketing efforts such as vote buying. Upon acceptance of a Block Producer position, we also intend to codify our policy of no-payment for votes into a formal written understanding.

Collaboration

In terms of collaboration, we intend to work with other block producers who share a similar ideology and network philosophy as outlined above. This will be done through the sharing of building tools, systems knowledge, and more.

Roadmap

Our near future roadmap is dedicated to fulfilling the claims detailed above, specifically in terms of our block reward system, position on dividends and collaborative stance. This involves codifying each section into its own formal document. This serves a dual purpose: it ensures EOS ChainRift is held accountable for claims made in pursuit of a block producer post, and it also removes ambiguity which could be used in retrospect to justify false promises.

For the high-level perspective, we intend to utilize our unique position in the ecosystem as a cryptocurrency exchange not to serve our own interests, but rather offer mutually beneficial products and services as per the community's democratically verifiable desires. To give a single example, this could take place in the form of ChainRift voting systems. These will be used to gauge the level of interest for various EOS related initiatives, following from which we will allocate the corresponding amount of developer resources for building the relevant infrastructure on our own platform (e.g token listings).

Ultimately, the EOS ChainRift roadmap intends to show a full commitment to community engagement, transparency and collaborative values, culminating in an overall effort to give back to the EOS network.

Mourad Ilyes Mlik - Paradigm Manager

Mourad lives in a remote village in Slovenia. He is a senior developer who has been fascinated with computers and tech all his life. Mourad lives and breathes Bitcoin and has contributed to many interesting projects in cryptocurrency space. He's now focusing on building on EOS full-time.

Ferdous Ahmed - Resident Philosopher

Ferdous lives in… Actually, we’re not quite sure at the moment because he has restless nomadic tendencies. Ferdous is a serial startupreneur and early adopter of cryptocurrency. He’s the founder of Bitcoin technical consulting company 21MIL.

Daniel Dalton - Jack of All Trades

Daniel lives in Lebanon. He was the managing editor of cryptocurrency news publication Crypto Insider, an initiatve spearheaded by 21MIL. With a passion for emerging technologies and strong interpersonal skills, his focus is now on business development related matters at 21MIL. You could say Daniel is a full-time cryptocurrency evangelist.

Bill Togkas - Software Architect

Bill lives in Greece. He has been a software engineer since early 2005. As a talented developer and tenured trader, Bill has always been passionate about Decentralized Web technologies. In 2017, Bill joined as co-founder and CTO of ChainRift and has since been focusing on strategic and technological issues within the company.

Matt Militante - Evangelist

Matt lives in Canada. He fell down the crypto rabbit hole while travelling as a digital nomad. As a developer and designer, he saw an opportunity and wanted to prove that cryptocurrencies don’t have to rhyme with complexities. He wants to help onboard the masses. Matt co-founded Cryptoinsider, a cryptocurrency news publication, and now dedicates his time to growing ChainRift EOS.

Alex Trifiro - Relentless Optimizor of Operations

Alex lives in Thailand. He’s always been the entrepreneurial type and even though he initially began experimenting with traffic generation through SEO and PPC, he was quickly entrapped by his growing passion for blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Alex now devotes his time to help maximize the online reach of projects like ChainRift EOS. Be like Alex.

Laurie lives in Canada. As a Community Manager, she's in charge of all things communication and uses her advanced level trolling skills to develop engaging content and build sustainable relationships of trust with ChainRift users.
