EOS Detroit Update
Block Producer Rankings: Currently there are 21 block producers actively producing blocks and 41 standby block producers that are in paid positions. EOS Detroit is currently ranked 81st in votes, just short of a paid position.
Vote for a full slate, Vote for Detroit!: The easiest way to vote for your favorite block producers is to use EOS-Voter which was built by @greymass. You are allowed to vote for up to 30 block producers and we recommend you use your vote to full effect by voting for a full slate. Alternatively you can proxy your vote to detroitproxy, which lets EOS Detroit vote on your behalf. Check out this How to vote video tutorial.

EOS Update
Telos: Telos, a “sustainably decentralized” EOSIO network has been announced. As a block producer, we can scale multiple synergistic EOSIO chains that diverge at the code (protocol) level using immutable infrastructure. That means it doesn't cost as much to add support for additional chains as long as we can afford the fixed costs. TLOS is an experiment to glean insights for the EOS mainnet about voting dynamics, alternate BP pay, and a different constitution. EOS Detroit is discerning when it comes to deciding to support an EOSIO variant. We believe there should be enough differentiation from the main EOS network to rationalize launching it. TLOS is an experiment to glean insights for the EOS mainnet about voting dynamics, alternate BP pay, and a divergent constitution. Telos will offer an alternate RAM pool could potentially be priced cheaper, creating a useful utility as a cheaper EOSIO network to deploy DApps on. This will open up access to more development teams to prototype and build on EOSIO software.
TLOS Block Producer Calls: EOS Detroit will be live streaming the weekly TLOS block producer calls on our Youtube channel. Watch the first call from 07/17/18 here.
73,000 EOS Tokens Frozen After ECAF Issues Order of Emergency Protection: ECAF issued an Order of Emergency Protection on 07/13/18 requesting that block producers refuse to process transactions of any kind, pending further investigation by an Arbitrator. A claim was filed contesting the ownership and/or control of account neverlandwa1 and the transfer of assets without permission or just cause. In total, there were three accounts and a total of around ~73,423 EOS involved (over $600,000 USD).
EOS Block Producer Calls: Every Thursday, there is a scheduled block producer call. EOS Detroit has started a regularly broadcasted livestream for these calls. We will continue to livestream these calls on our Youtube channel for as long as we have access to the Zoom link. Watch last week’s call here.
EOSIO.Contracts: New repositories have been added to the EOSIO Github that outline the EOSIO Contracts.
Version 1.1 Release Notes: A new “setramrate” action has been implemented which allows block producers to set the rate at which RAM supply (in bytes) increases per block. Amount of new RAM is calculated and added to the supply every time someone buys/sells RAM. RAM is then priced based on the new supply. Another change to the system contract is removing multiplying/dividing by 1000 in bancor algorithm connector weights used in calculating RAM price. Link.
Press Releases:
Block. One announced that Citibank Human Resources Managing Director James Mendes will join the company as Chief People Officer.
Block. One announced that world-renowned venture capitalist and entrepreneur Peter Thiel has invested in the company, along with other notable investors, Bitmain, Louis Bacon, and Alan Howard. Peter Thiel is known for being the co-founder of PayPal and also the first angel investor to invest in Facebook.

Airdrops
What are Airdrops? Airdrops are additional tokens that are distributed to EOS token holders. New projects can bootstrap a user base for their DApp while avoiding the complexity of selling tokens via the traditional ICO method. Projects then withhold founder tokens that can provide a runway for the development team. The free market then decides the fair market value of airdropped tokens for themselves.
Featured Airdrop of the Week: This week’s featured airdrop is Iryo. Iryo is setting out to redefine global healthcare and unleash the value of medical data for the new decentralized healthcare economy.
“Iryo - Your Health Record in Your Hands”
“The average person consults 20 different health care providers in their lifetime. This translates into 20 different electronic health records stored in 20 different formats scattered across various locations with no consolidated view. Patients don’t have access to their own data. This results in doctors having incomplete information which can hinder effective treatment. At Iryo, we are designing the first truly global medical backbone that enables the exchange of patient health records. We use standardized health data archetypes which are designed by doctors and made futureproof. With the use of crypto and blockchain technology, we provide the ultimate security while putting the patient in control of their data.”
