EOS Amsterdam&EosStore started a new column by summarizing and translating telegram channels, aiming to bring some Western voices to the East. We also would like to send a msg from the Chinese speaking community. Here are the ten major topics and concerns regarding EOS governance, plz refer to this link : https://bihu.com/article/1455800

John:
Those proxies came about the following discussion in eosgov telegram channel. @khosimorafo

Some recent discussion in the eos constitution v2 channel is how voter participation could increase

Rick Schlesinger - EOS New York was curious:
how the Alliance plans to respond to these media headlines:

User Mountie Lee - Eospay/Seyfert/PayGate replied:
for the constitution vote,
I think we have to consider seriously "one vote by one account".
constitution vote is different from BP election.
we are trying to setup future rules.

Kevin Wilcox
We're putting together a short statement and are in contact with a major news publication. How do you and others suggest we respond?

Marshall - SaltBlock:
I think the alliance needs to acknowledge the issue and call for transparency. Beyond that it's up to the BPs named to demonstrate a willingness to address it satisfactorily or be removed.

I think the call to BPs is clear - if you want to gain respect in the community, stand up against these issues and actively investigate. Protect the network. Mainstream media will continue to take EOS down and eventually the price will go with it.

There are 3 big ones (about 30M total tokens), with holdings of 18M, 7.5M and 4.5M, which coordinate votes. bitfinex has provided them multiple proxy accounts, mostly of 3M tokens each, so they can spread the votes precisely (in 3M increments) among many BPs.

Joe
To be fair we already have an onchain discussion forum live on mainnet. It was created by a bunch of BPs in the referendum working group.

There's no really easy to use integrated UI for this contract yet but if someone with clout could boot it along then it might actually be declared ready for prime time use. It's been in development for about 3 months

Announcements and Community calls:
Kevin Wilcox
Just completed an open call with 20 members of the Chinese EOS community about concerns surrounding BP elections. The Chinese community is focused on finding solutions and a forging a strong connection between East and West. It is impossible to verify whether the allegation documents are true.
Some notes:

  1. Two Chinese working groups held calls this weekend. The first group asked whether exchanges should be allowed to vote with customer funds. General consensus was mixed between yes and no, but favored yes with the caveat that:
    A) All voter participation must be increased. The group looks forward to REX.
    B) Exchanges should be expected to provide greater transparency to their voting selection process.

  2. Another group held discussions about improving communication with a central tool for governance discussions, accessible to all, and the importance of including that on chain so BPs and other groups can sign important messages.

Further call discussion notes:

  • One member said now is a great time to openly address collusion questions, with the EOS price and media attention low relative to a bull market.
  • Another call member said the BP revenue isn't important to Huobi, building their ecosystem around the HBT token is. EOS itself needs an incentive for holders to vote, like REX.
  • The group reiterated its focus to finding solutions as we address this problem to our current media attention.

Through psychological association, the current organization known as ECAF and the concept of Dispute Resolution at the base layer have been invariably linked. It is my opinion that we have passed the point of no return where these are viewed as two separate concepts: unless drastic measures are taken, they are now and will forever be ONE. In other words, for right or for wrong, currently, Dispute Resolution equals ECAF.
