EOS Gravity is the largest EOS community in China and globally. Every week we post topics in our community, mostly in WeChat groups, to encourage community members to discuss and think. This article is a summary of these discussions, also an opportunity for EOS global community to listen to the voice of Chinese community.
This week we focus on two topics:
First Topic: What is the least satisfying part of EOS for you? What kind of improvements you want to see?
Daofengyizhi: The construction of EOS ecology should focuses more on usage scennarios.
Xiao Zhiming: I would like to see prompt information update about the development of Dapp or mechanisms like token leasing.
Chen Shaogang: Overall I have confidence in EOSIO which promised zero transaction fee, REX, decentralized exchange, side chains, Steem 3.0, etc. It is good to see that EOS is improving including the development of referendum tool and a lower threshold of creating account. I wish EOS Alliance can coordinate with BlockOne to make regular information disclosure about the software development. I also would like to see the community can realize information synchronization across different groups. BlockOne can also consider to study from other ESOIO based chains to improve EOS mainnet. The summary of my thoughts is as below:
Make regular information disclosure about the development of EOSIO
Realize information synchronization across different communities
Reaching consensus by listening to different voices
In Chinese 公约 is better than 宪法, the former meaning an agreement agreed by people, the latter meaning constitution specifically.
Yang Jianfeng: Chaoyang District of Beijing has banned events about cryptocurrency. Isn’t it the result of the market in which crypto makers make money by making retail investors lose everything?
This incurred backlash from the government. It is rumored that overseas exchanges will be banned, too.
Why the community is not enjoying the value brought by Dapp, but suffering money loses.
Why the price of token is not elevated by the use value of Dapp, but by the magic of Greater Fool Theory. This could be a road of no return.
Don’t forget EOS was born for Dapp.
Whatever it is cryptocurrency market or share market, what we care about is the governance of company or public chain, including its technology, product, competitiveness, and value.
As US share market continue to grow for 10 years with many new peaks, China’s share market is falling back to the original point 10 years ago. With newly listed companies within the 10 years, China’s share market is actually worse than 10 years ago.
Why? The reason is many and complicated, and the key point can be the core competitiveness. Apple and Google have great products. If we Chinese people put our investment into them, the share price can realize 10000% growth, too.
Cryptocurrency can be discussed in many ways. It is not only about price. A much-hyped one is a quickly dying one which has been proved many times historically.
Le Ang: EOS is like a naked chain without necessary infrastructures like an official wallet. There are only dinosaurs in EOS ecology, in which the lack of diversity of small but beautiful players is a serious problem. It still has a long way to go to attract average persons.
I suggest EOS Gravity can try to build a crowdfunding platform on EOS, which could be useful for many people.
Kangdizhihua: The creation of account is too expensive and there is no developer friendly test network.
Jay: As an industrial level infrastructure public chain, EOS is too complicated in interactive design. RMA, CPU, NET are too obscure to be understood by average users, which is not good for its popularization. So how can EOS be applied commercially? Now there are some EOS games that are popular. However does games really need blockchain technology? For most people, a game can be deleted anytime if it is not funny. No one would play a game for a lifetime.
Dianmingrensheng: The creation of EOS account is too expensive. Economic models are too many like NET, RAM, DRAM, CPU, which is not user friendly.
Gravity Comment: It is indeed less than satisfactory that EOS has problems in many ways. However what we should focus on is not price, but its ecology development and community interaction. EOS is growing fast from a beautiful concept into the most promising public chain nowadays. A lot of Dapps were waiting before EOS mainnet launched. We believe EOS will prosper.
Second Topic: Do you agree the Worker Proposal Fund should be burned for the sake of inflation?
Xiao Zhiming: I agree to keep WPF if there is a detailed to do list for the fund to develop EOS ecology. A few percentage points of inflation could also bring greater bonus for all of us.
We are having an immature system including WPS, EOS Alliance, Constitution, etc. A decentralized world should have a transparent ledger. Corruption can be always seen in a system involving human and money. I hope EOS could become a deflationary system. At least the inflation rate should not be over 1%.
Pu Zhengjie: The real issue is not about how much of the fund we should burn, but how we spend the fund? If spending 10 bucks could make 100 bucks value, we should keep it. Vice versa.
Liu Yuanjun:
WPF is frozen now. It hasn’t been into the market. Only the 1 % inflation for BPs are in the market. It can’t be a problem if it remains frozen.
I think a moderate inflation is helpful. EOS is like not Bitcoin anchoring gold that should be deflationary. EOS will be used by everyone. It can be inflationary like fiat money. 2% is acceptable. As EOS ecology is growing, a moderate inflation should not be a problem.
When a company has a new partner, it also issues news shares. New share makes the company bigger without affecting vested interest.
Xiao Dongguo: How to make sure that WPF can be used properly? If I make a proposal of little importance, will I be funded by it?
Yidaonabuxia: Burning it all is the simplest way. It will become complicated if we keep a part of it for emergency handling and community development and burn the rest? How much should be kept? Who makes the decision? What kind of initiatives can be regarded as community development? I think there will be a lot argues and chaos.
Luolanxiansheng: Inflation itself is a type of economic adjustment, which can be good, too. As EOS ecology is developing, more EOS can make sure more liquidity. We should focus more on Dapp rather than the issue of inflation.
Yuan Kaipeng: 4% should be burned unconditional. Community development and emergency handling should be done through raising donations, otherwise corruption will arise. EOS Alliance should be operated in this way, too.
Gravity Comment: It still has a long way to go for EOS community development. EOS has been seeing hundreds of Dapps and other projects since its launch. No matter the token price rise or fall, EOS is becoming better. This is what we should celebrate.
Please stay tuned for more voices from Chinese community!
