EOS Nation is a Block Producer (BP) candidate for the EOS network. Our seven co-founders are located in Eastern Canada and in the Southern United States. Our passion for EOS brought us together.
Our multifaceted strategy to become an elected BP includes:
Displaying strong technical expertise in producing blocks
Denis Carrière is our lead engineer and he has set up and maintained the EOS Scholar Testnet. This allows other BP candidates to connect to our testnet and practice producing blocks. You can find Denis in our Scholar Testnet telegram group answering questions and helping other BPs that have questions or difficulties running their nodes. Denis also maintains 7 different EOS nodes, 3 Testnets, and 1 "main" node with load balancer.
Engaging the community
We have hosted 5 official meetups so far and we are on track to host 15 more before the launch of the mainnet. For our online communities, you can find the links to our socials on our webpage.
In an effort to expand our reach, we created the EOS Nation Ambassador program which has allowed us to build a team of passionate individuals across the world. These individuals want to spread knowledge about EOS and we want to help them. We provide them with guidance, coaching, presentation materials, funding or whatever else they might need for their meetups or other EOS related projects. EOS Nation amplifies their voice through our social media presence and the Ambassadors help spread awareness about what EOS Nation is all about.
Becoming an educational hub for all things EOS
A big part of community outreach is education so it makes sense for EOS Nation to strive to become an educational hub. The EOS Awesome is our repository of many, many links to various educational videos or articles. We have included materials from a wide variety of sources, including other BPs. We welcome anyone to submit new links and we hope to create more resources in the future that benefit the entire EOS community.
Our ambassadors have also proved very valuable in their ability to translate various articles into other languages. We have also had our ambassadors translates documents for other BPs who have been working alongside us for months now.
Collaborating with various groups
EOS Nation believes in “building bridges”, something you can find Yves La Rose repeating from time to time in the EOS governance discussion channels. Yves has made significant contributions to those discussions as he keeps up on a daily basis with everything related to governance. From these discussions, EOS Nation has collaborated with other similar-minded BPs on writing and translating various articles. 'We have also partnered up with various blockchain and EOS organizations across Canada including :
- EOS Vancouver
- Alberta Blockchain Consortium
- Cryptochicks
- Edmonton Crypto / Blockchain Meetup
Transparency
Finally, we would like to highlight the fact that the names of the co-founders are all public and we are self-funding this venture. We think BP transparency is paramount and we believe that being self-funded will keep our incentives clean, allowing us to stay aligned with our core values. We are taking risks in the hopes of being able to contribute and build the future we want to see.
