Why get your ETH locked in when you contribute to the EOS ICO and only knowing the final price of the token just a little under a year from now.
Bitfinex will start EOS trading on Saturday 1st July 2017 so you can get a feel of the price before the end of the ICO. What’s more you don’t have to wait until Bitfinex start trading on its’ exchange.
Go to HITBTC to get your tokens now. The price trading on their exchange is 0.0026ETH at the time of writing this post.
You can see the value of the token has had a wild ride since it started trading going in in price to over 0.012ETH and down settling now at 0.0026. So if you don’t want to join the ICO then get your tokens on the exchange.
Already there are buyers with few sellers who I assume are trading but the majority are holding. The current volume on this exchange for EOS token is about 34.6BTC.
Although the volume on this exchange is small you have an alternative avenue to participate in the EOS ICO.
What are the benefits of joining the ICO, I’m not sure! But at least your ETH won’t be locked in for a year and even then you don’t know what is going to happen throughout the year.
This token sale being one of a kind presents many uncertainties so buying from the exchanges can help eliminate those risks.

.0026 is a bit expensive dont you think looking as ico still open plus eos tokens can be traded if you buy from ico, they will freeze after a year when you have to move to eos tokens plus eos tokens can be traded if you buy from ico, they will freeze after a year when you have

I don't know what the price of the EOS tokens is in the ICO as it is unknown until the end of the ICO (Correct me if I am wrong). There may be advantages in buying through the ICO, if the demand is not there the token is in the ICO will be a lot cheaper.
However if the demand is great then the price of the ICO tokens will be valued higher and less tokens will be distributed per ETH.
Maybe we need to hedge our bets and buy some in the ICO and on the exchanges. I really don't know, just thinking through my strategy how to obtain EOS tokens.

Where these EOS tokens come from?
Who can have the tokens before the first ICO period ends?

I assume they have a deal with EOS to buy a limited number of tokens so they can trade them on their exchange. Bitfinex will start trading the EOS tokens on 1 July 2017 so I would not think it is a scam or anything like that.

Thanks for the info. I like the eosscan.io page but I notice on the page that there are already eth contributions for the later periods. How can that be when the later period are not due to open?

I see that you can purchase ahead of time.

Click the "Get eos" button and then click on all the tick box's, which means that they can get away with anything and you have absolutely no recourse. Anyway, on the next page, at the bottom, you will see the header "Advanced Participation". It looks like you need the command line usage (provided there) for doing this?
