EOS Main-Net is Now Live!!! BP Voting is OnGoing

in eos •  6 years ago  (edited)

Finally...the main-net has been launched and all functionality will be opened up once 15% (Minimum votes required: 150,001,772.8110 EOS = 15%) of the staked tokens have voted.

Right now it looks like things have just gotten started as only a mere .177% of the token have been cast. Hopefully this won't take long, but since the largest wallets are Exchanges, there may be a large jump once they cast votes:

You can track the progress of the voting along with the leading Block Producers (BPs) using the following links:

~Voting for Block Producers~

Please note: The only approved/vetted tool for voting at launch is CLEOS. This is however very technical and complicated to use, I didn't even try to attempt it!!! If you are not a programmer, several BP Candidates have made non-command line voting tools available and two notable ones are LibertyBlock and EOS Portal. I personally would not (never, never, ever) post your EOS keys directly into LibertyBlock's tool (anyone's tool for that matter), Use Scatter!

EOS Portal = http://eosportal.io

~ Final Token Distribution ~

The final token snapshot on Github has been processed by EOS Authority. For those who were not able to register before the ERC20 freeze (3,301,220.3641 tokens), EOS LaoMao created a script and validated all of the unregistered EOS holders and their balances.

Most if not all of the top accounts have been verified as exchanges. The "centralization FUD" is just FUD.

~ Block Exploring ~

If you want to go block exploring and look around at your initial wallet, there are already a few simple tools available:

eosflare is a simple block explorer.
EOS Tracker is another effective explorer.
EOSPark has also released an explorer.

I am Lord @matthewwarn and I have Stackitis...but there are worse problems to have in life...like not voting for the best EOS Block Producers.

Great info! But doesn't Scatter still require you to enter EOS private keys?

Yes, but they are encrypted and at least your not putting them directly into a website. Theoretically, they never leave your machine. I'm not a programmer but from everything I've read and from one BP candidate that I spoke with at a meet-up, this is the safest way for someone like me :-)

It's great that it's finally launched! It looks like it might take a while to reach 15 %, especially when people are scared to use the tools to vote. It seems like the voting has risen to 0.2676 % already, so at least it's rising pretty fast right now.

Yes sir! I haven't done it yet to be honest...I don't want to be the first one shot going through the door if something is wrong lol but I will vote later today.

Same here. I'm very uneasy about giving away my private key, and I feel like my votes will not even matter that much anyway. So I rather wait a day or so and see if anything bad happens first.

Finally!

Better late than never!

C’mon baby! Let’s see you run!!!

Yep...she is fast too
