Dan Larimer - bringing dapps to the masses

When the average internet user visits websites like steemit.com and bitshares.org one would never expect that the technology in the background is blockchain. But it is.

Steemit is a social media platform growing fast, but there is no owner. Bitshares is a cryptocurrency exchange. The most safe exchange available, because: decentralized - not possible for disgruntled employees or bosses who see an opportunity to become overnight millionaires by taking the altcoins and run. Or hackers that steal credentials.

The future of internet one could say is to build all applications on the blockchain ensuring both safety and freedom. Steemit and Bitshares are developed by Dan Larimer. Basically he is doing what ethereum promised but failed to do till now: building usable dapps on the Blockchain. Where ethereum seems to be stuck by lengthy development processes by dapp builders, Larimer had pushed out Steemit and Bitshares within three years.

Larimers' new project is EOS - promising to do just that: Decentralizing All The Things! EOS can be viewed as the operating system for the blockchain. A uniform technology that maken blockchain easy for app developers. Developers do not have to write special code and directly interact with the blockchain for each and every dapp. Instead EOS allows them to focus on the front end.

Apps can be made very fast and used in a very easy and accessable way for the average user: no blockchain has to be downloaded, no tokens or currencies have to be bought, mined or staked.
It is internet as everyone already knows, but safe and free on the blockchain.
