Is It Time To Uninstall LUMEOS?

in eos •  5 years ago

Have you ever put some faith in a company just to be let down? That's what happened to a few hundred people thanks to LUMEOS built on the EOS Blockchain.

LUMEOS is an app where users can generate polls and answer polls. When you answer a poll you get 1 LUME token which currently has a value of [ 0.00076 EOS / $ 0.0023 ] and dropped dramatically in August 2019.

The idea is amazing and they're looking to allow website integration to embed a poll on your site. However, for those following the app you may have noticed that it has done nothing for a while now, and everyone working on the app is mostly silent.

Currently LUMEOS is loosing a small fraction of its following due to lack of information being fed to the community. The LUMEOS marketing team has mostly abandoned communication with the general public, with the occasional "update coming soon" being mentioned in Telegram.

Their last article post on Steemit was a while ago now and their social channels promote Sense Chat more than Lumeos.

People keep asking for an update on what is happening with the app.

The marketing team will eventually reply to this with "an app update will be released soon" when all people want is a general update on what is happening with the company. It is a nice way to avoid making comment if you ask me. Nobody want to invest time or money into a silent app showing no signs of progress.

One person in the Telegram chat made a really good point on how it is frustrating when development and marketing teams of a company remain silent, drip feeding them small amounts of information that essentially translate to nothing.

Over the past month the avenues of communication I've tried has exhausted.

I first tried to contact the LUME team directly via web form: no answer.

I've emailed them directly from my business email: no answer.

I politely asked in Telegram: no answer.

I dumped all my LUME token in Newdex and made a bit more of a scene calling them out for being dodgy data collectors, then I got a reply saying: an update is coming soon.

Currently the active users are in the hundreds on LUMEOS and the polls are generally answered by Bots that hit the first answer. Try it for yourself.

The level of skewed data in this platform is outstanding, and they expect companies to pay LUME to people for poll answers, when 30% are bots and 24% are waiting to sell their tokens and delete the app.

If less than 46% of around 600 users are going to actually answer the poll (with only 28% actually believing in the app itself) and care about the outcome, without thinking about topic breakdown or segmenting users based on language then the platform is already setup for failure. You can literally get a much better results across hundreds of thousands on twitter for free.

This article actually started out as a small promotion to LUMEOS group to get more people using the app, but after spending a month researching and trying to contact anyone that works there, I'd suggest moving onto another project. If you're looking to invest in LUME then do it at your own risk, we already know a lot of people are waiting to dump their tokens in Newdex, maybe you can get a good deal.

I really hope I am completely wrong in this article and the LUMEOS team makes me look like an idiot by launching the app and tokens to the moon, I would love nothing more, but I just don't see it.

The lesson I've learned during the past few weeks is keeping people updated is really important in business, and even if there is nothing to report right now, it is still good to show your face or voice to let the general public know the project/business/trust is still alive.
