The day we have been waiting for is just around the corner, the launching of EOS Mainnet. Many crypto enthusiasts, including myself, are looking forward to see how the project takes off in these upcoming days. If it holds its weight, it may just be the platform to steal the show.

In this post I wanted to provide a guide to help with the Registration Process for the individuals that purchased EOS ERC20 tokens on an exchange. You have until tomorrow, June 1st at 22:59:59 UTC, to register your EOS Tokens so there is still time. By doing so you will be able to participate in the launch process, vote on block producers, have your assets safe, and "possibly" qualify for some the exciting genesis airdrop$$$. Below is a quick rundown taken from @eosphere on how the launch will pan out:

  • Verify Snapshot & Boot - Snapshot taken and verified by EOS Mainnet Launch Group (EMLG) and third parties. Boot process initiated.
  • Testing - Allow time for EMLG and third parties to verify that the tokens have been loaded according to the snapshot file, and that the software performs well.
  • Enable - Release joint statement from Block Producer community that it is safe to import private keys and vote. Voting beings.
  • Activation - Declare the EOS Mainnet active.

Registration Process

Below is a link to the guide that I followed when I helped register my friends tokens, you can find it by clicking here. I found it to be very straight forward and easy to comprehend. I would suggest setting up KeePassX as well. It is a de facto password manager where you can store your public & private key pair securely because if you lose your private key, you lose your funds.

Last Resort

If this is all too overwhelming for you or you are not interested in receiving additional tokens from the airdrop$$$, then you can leave your EOS on an exchange who will do the process for you. Bare in mind though that you may lose your funds. If you are willing to take that risk, these are the exchanges that have announced they will do the exchanging for you, you can find them all at the link here.

Good Luck :)
