This course would certainly be one worth doing. As new platform there would be many companies wishing to take advantages of all the great features but not sure exactly how. The EOSCP would increase adoption rates for the EOS platform and allow the early adopters to build a career going forward.
The EOSCP Engineers could even opt to be paid in EOS tokens which may be better for corporates who have already made an investment into the platform. If you continue along the lines of windows certifications I'm sure there would also be room for
EOSSE - EOS Solutions Expert
EOSCE - EOS Certified Educator
EOSCT - EOS Certified Trainer
I think this would really build a whole community around the platform and accelerate the EOS education exponentially.
What would the cost be?
Well it could be done a number of ways. EOS is not like Microsoft who want to make hundreds of millions of dollars of profit by overcharging their customers knowing they have no other option. What about the courses are free depending of your level of investment into the platform? The quicker and easier courses only require you to have for instance 1000 tokens while the longer and more complex courses may require you to have 10 000 tokens. These tokens are locked into the platform for as long as you want to be recognized for having this skill. Anyone would be able to confirm the certifications and they would be public. This would create an incentive to invest into the platform and prevent fly-by-nighters wanting to make a quick buck claiming they are experts and love EOS but haven't invested a dollar.
Welcome any comments and whether you think this would be possible and/or popular among the EOS community?
Interesting, but staking EOS to confirm your certification level does not prevent bad programming and fraud. I would suggest that the staked EOS should be used as an insurance mecanism. If you write faulty smart contracts, the consumer could be protected up to a certain amount. As a developer, you would then loose a part of your stake, but hey, you are certified, your smart contracts should be bug free right?
