EOS - How to Register simple steps Exodus Help Desk Reply

Had some advice from Exodus wallet help desk on how to register, simple steps and a video as well. Hope this assists people!

Hello,

EOS is currently an ERC20 token, which means it runs on the Ethereum network. They will have their own blockchain down the line, and the tokens need to be registered before the ICO ends (before June 1st, 2018). The reason for that is when the ICO ends, you will get actual EOS coins instead of the ERC20 tokens. At the moment, doing this in Exodus isn't supported. You have to export your private keys and do it on MyEtherWallet if you like. You would have to export your private key and use it on MyEtherWallet.com. Here's how:

Please be very careful with your private key. Anyone who gets it will get access to all your ETH and ETH based tokens.

When you receive EOS from the ICO, you should use MyEtherWallet as well. Once they are delivered, you can transfer them into Exodus for safe keeping or exchange.

Here's a blog post about registration: https://steemit.com/eos/@thimom/how-to-use-myetherwallet-for-the-eos-ico . You'll want to look at the last part titled "Registering your EOS public and private keys."

Hope that helps. Do stay in touch and let us know if you have any more questions.

Kind regards,

Camille
