Why did I invested in the EOS?

When people say: Do your own research! - You should do that!

Today, after I have made my own research I decided to invest some of my steem into the EOS ICO! The main reason why I have invested into the EOS is because the token distribution will take place over 341 days starting on June 26, 2017 at 13:00 UTC. The longer you wait the bigger the reward.

If I remember well, there was a similar ico (IOTA) and it was very successful and profitable for those who had to wait for a full year until they launched the product. According to coinmarketcap.com IOTA is on top 8 crypto-currencies!

I don't remember where I have read that some guy invested 10 BTC into IOTA ICO and after 1 year, those 10 BTC worth 200 BTC. In my opinion, that's a great investment. If IOTA was so profitable after 1 year I don't see why EOS shoulnd't be the same. Now, I don't have 10 BTC to invest into the EOS, but I invested how much I can afford to lose.

I have invested 2 ETH = $606, and after a year, if this will be the same as it was with IOTA, I will have 20 x $606= $12120! In my country, the average salary is around 4k/year and I can make 3 times more just because I have invested in this EOS ICO.

I know there might be a chance to lose all those money or to make a lot more than I expected, but this is the crypto business. You can't win if you are not taking any risks!

How to Participate

To participate in the EOS Token distribution you will need to send ETH to the Ethereum smart contract address set forth below during a period of your choice. The EOS Tokens will be reserved for you to claim when the period is completed. The minimum contribution amount is 0.01 Ether.

I have used an alternative web wallet: www.myetherwallet.com

The Ethereum address for the token distribution is: 0xd0a6e6c54dbc68db5db3a091b171a77407ff7ccf

Do not send ETH from an Exchange

If you send ETH to the EOS Token Distribution Contract from an exchange account, your EOS Tokens will be allocated to the exchange's ETH account, and you may never receive or be able to recover your EOS Tokens.
There are many incompatible wallets, please check to make sure that your wallet meets the criteria above before sending any ETH. The following wallets are known to be incompatible wallets; this is not a complete list. Do not use any of the following wallets to participate in the EOS Token distribution:
  • Any Bitcoin exchange
  • Any Ethereum exchange
  • Jaxx
  • Exodus
  • Coinbase
  • Poloniex
  • Kraken
  • Bitstamp
  • Bitfinex
  • Bittrex
  • Cex.io

If you are using MyEtherWallet, the instructions to claim your tokens are here.

I have read and saw a lot of posts about EOS and until I didn't decided to make my own research I didn't jumped in. In my opinion if you understand and believe in a project like it was with Steemit last year, I think you should jump in at the beginning before is to late and feel sorry that you have missed another 'train'!

So, do your own research, take your own decisions and have faith in the any project you invested. Time will always pay you back many times more!

Please be careful ! I don't think you will make this return. And it looks 2 ETH is a lot of money for you. The problem IMO is that there is no cap and this will be very bad for the price but good for the founders.

Thanks a lot for your advice @mallorca, much appreciated. I will take into consideration what you just told me!

Good luck :)

I don't need luck. I only need that the project to not fail! Anyway. thanks a lot for your support @mallorca, much appreciated!
Cheers!

I just can't convince myself to invest in this the more I read about it. I know Dan has been a serial crypto creator and that's part of what worries me. He doesn't stick to one project. From there this 1 year crowdfunding model with distribution on a regular basis based on how much ETH is invested means you're pitting investor against investor. And finally what is the market cap going to be here? Billions on Billions for unproven technology from the get go? I would feel safer investing in smaller cryptos under $30M market caps because there is scope for growth as their platforms are proven. Hopefully I'll be proven wrong here and you'll be a multibillionaire before we all know it :)

That's the reason why I don't like this ICO. Too many coins and with a market cap so big it will be a problem. Thank you for such a great feedback!

Totally agree with you. I m quite dissapointed with this ICO.

Good rational explanation. EOS is in hype anyway so this may play out very well for those who invests. I didn't decide yet.

It was a hard decision for me as well until today. I will see next year if it was a good or bad investment!

You made your decision and went for it. Always nice! Done some crowdfunding investments in startup companies with proven proposition and needed funding for international expansion. Risky, but rewarding when things fall in place. Didn't invest in ICOs in crypto space though. On EOS, I'll think about it. At least I have about a year to think hahaha

Yes, for this Ico you have a lot of time to think about it. I have invested in a few ICOs like MobileGo and Peerplays and I wait for Bittrex or Poloniex to add them. But there are so many ICOs coming and not so much money to invest. :D
I can't wait to see what is going to happen with those ICOs I have invested in.
Thanks a lot for your comments @edje, always a pleasure!

Ype, soooo many ICOs and in a year from now maybe many of them gone. The art is in selecting the right ones. Well yeh, I have a couple of 10s $ of Peerplay and Zappl and Particl... No idea what that means, but I was just starting with crypto trading and jumped on all of them just to figure out how these ICOs and transfers of BTC and whatever worked. Always more fun when it is for a reason to learn :)

Nice topic Greetings Happy day

Thanks a lot @tohamy7, same to you!

Great post will definitely claim, thanks for the update !! will follow you for sure :)

You're welcome! Glad you find it helpful.
Thanks for the follow!

i would suggest to invest in the late of this year.

Any reason why should I do that?

Probably the expectation that the ICO hype will be long gone and EOS will have to deal with real life expectations and the next-gen coin knocking on the 'attention-grabbing' door. It seems better to spread out in time your investment in this token.

Second, dont invest funds you cannot afford to lose. This ICO could be one where end price is 10x lower than in the first round.

You might be right on this, but the crypto world is always changing and more people start to adopt it. I don't see a reason why it should be 10x lower than in the first round.

Exciting times indeed, my friend! I invested less than 1 ETH in EOS, mainly because it was all the ETH that I had at the time. Any idea if I could add to that within the year?

ICOs are scary and exciting at the same time. Everyone is looking for the next big thing, but the one you invest in could turn into a dud. I have faith that EOS would live up to its promise, that's why I want to add to that investment when I can. You're right that the only way to go about it is to do our own research, so that we wouldn't blame anyone else if it falls through.

Yes, I think you can add ti that within this year, but I'm not 100% sure. I have done it with peerplays and I think it is possible with any kind of ICO! I will look again just to be sure.

Good to know! I hope we're investing on the next big thing, my friend! Maybe in a few years time we can clink our champagne glasses while we're aboard our own yachts haha!

:))) hahaha that will be insane my friend! But is not impossible, in crypto everything is possible! Cheers, buddy!
