The climb is tough but the view from the top is worth it.
How's that view actually, Dan Larimer @dan? :-)
I've been following the activities of the EOS.io team for a while now, and must admit: everything they've done so far has completely amazed me!
It seems that they're not only ahead of the times when it comes to blockchain technology, but they've also created a great team of experienced, inspiring and skilled people.
While the whole crypto market is currently on a downtrend, EOS seems to be unstoppable on its way to the top!
EOS.io the future of decentralization
The EOS euphoria
What is it exactly that makes EOS.io become such a promising project?
I'm a marketing manager, so what first called my attention is the excellent communication and PR the EOS.io team is delivering since day one. The corporate identity is perfectly implemented in every announcement they publish, no matter the channel they choose.
A solid and professional communication is key when it comes to build trust.
In order to keep their community constantly updated, they've already build a strong network by implementing a series of huge meetups all over the world. If you watch the reports on YouTube you can even spot the faces of some well-known steemians in the audience from time to time :-)
I really understand the hype, because what actually makes EOS.io unbeatable is that they have Dan Larimer.
You don't need to be a crypto experto to recognize that Dan is a true visionary, and that he always acts with absolute confidence.
There may be many crypto enthusiasts who call themselves ideologists, but often what they say is pure marketing and not convincing at all. In this case it's different.
EOS won't be just another coin, it's created under the umbrella of a true vision, and that's why investors have confidence.
The strategy the team sets up and the actions they take are all clearly subject to the vision, thus absolutely congruent and reasonable.
You know what you get.
For a deeper insight you may check the EOS Technical White Paper v2 - the last update has been published on March 16.
In terms of the team I very much enjoy seeing that Dan Larimer has surrounded himself with great personalities in order to create and offer an outstanding product. All together they've published a series of really thought-provoking and inspiring videos - including interviews with the board - in their YouTube channel.
I've watched them all with great enthusiasm.
Here's one of my favourite videos from the EOS team which I highly recommend you to watch in case you haven't seen it yet: 'Start an EOS Meetup'
I asked the EOS team if they were planning to build a social network on the EOS.io blockchain and got an interesting reply from the founder of eosnation.io:
The EOS community will grow organically by first creating their own local Meetups and begin reaching out their own networks, the best way approach for communication is to do in the open & transparent. Steemit is a great example of a social network on the blockchain. - Source
Obviously, EOS is going to be one of the most respected competitors for Steem - not only for the reason that Dan Larimer founded Steem two years ago. The EOS team member themselves often refer to the Steem blockchain and Steemit.com when explaining the benefits and progress of EOS.io.
There's few information available about what's going to happen on the famous 1st of June that has been constantly mentioned as a D-Day in the EOS.io communication. But there's one thing clear about it: it's gonna be a beat of the drum.
The EOS community won't start from zero: Brock Pierce will donate nothing less than $1 billion dollars to the network!
Forbes reported about it recently:
Pierce now says he will donate $1 billion into a decentralized autonomous community run on a blockchain. Governed by a constitution, the community will be registered as a charitable organization, he says, whose participants will receive voting rights to allocate its money. It is set to launch June 1, based on a new blockchain called EOS.IO that Pierce helped launch. "I'll make more money," he shrugs. "I'm not worried about it."
What a noble act of gratitude!
No matter what's going to happen until and after June 1st, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be groundbreaking for the whole blockchain technology and cryptocurrency markets.
I'd like to conclude this article with my favourite quote from Brock Pierce:
We take these things for granted, that we have bank accounts and credit cards - these things that make our lives kind of function well. And most of the world doesn't have it. So in the same way the internet democratized knowledge, information and communication, this technology is about o democratize the financial world, and it's the least fortunate people on the planet that stand to benefit most from it. EOS.io video 'Why blockchain?'- Brock Pierce
EOS, count me in on your journey!
Marly -
PS: If you wanna keep updated on the news of EOS.io, I'd highly recommend you to check the official website https://eos.io and follow @eosio on Steemit as well as the official EOS.io Twitter account where general news and videos from meetups can be found.

Thanks for the great post Marly. I've been holding onto a few EOS tokens from early days of its distribution. I wish I had picked up some more. :D
Anyways I hope it grows into a strong project and I would like to see a social media app built upon it as well.

I'm still not holding any tokens, but will do it in the near future.
A social app would be huge! It seems ONO will be one of them (see latest post from @stellabelle).
Happy Easter weekend!

I’ve been picking EOS up since the first distribution and the more I learn about the project, the more enthusiastic I become @surfermarly. I used to look forward to EOS going 10x and making lots of money, but after talking with friends like @mada, @lovejoy and @robrigo, I’m just happy to hold what I have and be a part of the decentralization if the future world.

Great to hear that you're already an EOS owner! :-) I bet you won't regret it.
What I like about the concept of EOS.io is that they focus very much on the ideological part and not just on the profit as many other blockchain based projects do.
Hearing it from Dan I really believe them that this is one of the key drivers of EOS.io.
They're the ones that are not just talking and promising achievements they can't fulfill...
Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your Easter time!

Firstly, EOS allows a developer to decide whether or not to charge for using their EOS-based currencies.
Secondly, the platform promises to offer infinite scalability. Scalability issues have turned away developers from using Ethereum. Additionally, rising Gas prices and slow transactions have hampered growth. TThat is the reason for EOS to command a market capitalization of $5.4 billion even at the conceptual stage.

Nice addings here, thanks @hasbydiaz!
I guess the scalability is a killer argument. I've watched all of the EOS.io videos on YouTube, and wherever Dan Larimer goes on stage, it's his no. 1 sales proposition.
The market cap is impressive! That actually inspired me to finally write this article :-)

I've heard Dan criticized for leaving projects and starting new ones. I see this as evolutionary rather than a lack of commitment.
I agree that the building of a whole team is one of the greatest strenghts of EOS.

I agree and don't see it as a valid reason for criticism either.
It's said that the offical @eosio account moved to Medium. It would have been great to see the Steem community being frequently updated. But well those of us who're interested in the project will know where to find the relevant information though :-)

SteemIt's development team has a conspicuous absence.
Is there any leadership for forward progresss? Or are we simply wandering in the dark?

I'm unable to answer that question, since there is few to zero communication from Steemit, Inc. But is that anything new? :-)
Not sure how they believed they'd build trust in the community and among investors, but ignorance is surely not the best strategy. They'll learn the lesson sooner or later... I don't care much about Steem anymore for that very reason. We need to move on.

That is the way of the world.
Outside influences will effect SteemIt. Probably more impacting than any inside forces. But all is not lost here. Change or die. My hope is that SteemIt will adapt and flourish, even if not at the top spot.

Goodness me. EOS has been constantly on my mind for the past week. There is a real frenzy building; here on Steemit, and on other social network platforms like YouTube. I've been watching one video after another :D
I think it's time for me to get involved. Enough of the procrastination haha. Thanks for this article.

I thought Brock Pierce split up with EOS? Your right though..they're good at marketing. Its a bit challenging for USA citizens to buy EOS now I thought? A VPN is needed?

Oh wow, I didn't know that. Just found this article: http://fortune.com/2018/03/16/john-oliver-eos-brock-pierce-scandal-cryptocurrency/
Well it seems the news didn't interest investors much. If it was of major relevance, the price would've reacted. I appreciated the point of view Brock Pierce added in the videos. The three of them - Larimer, Blumer and Pierce - were an interesting mix of very different characters, but maybe that was the problem in the end.
I heard about the barriers in the US. Does it have to do with regulation?

I'm not sure exactly @ surfermarly. I'm not an EOS holder..but this is from a friend: "In June EOS will take a snap shot of the blockchain and give you the "official" eos token. To get the real eos token, you need to have a registered ETH wallet address. They don't allow US investors to hold the token, so the wallet needs to be registered with a VPN."

Awesome! Then that's what's gonna happen in June. I was not sure about the date.
By the way, Brock Pierce shared the link to this article on his twitter account (50K followers). Nice move :-) I guess even if he may not be part of the core team anymore, he's still attached to the project. How not? :-)

Thanks for this post @surfermarley. I am excited to see what EOS will do over the next couple of months. I would guess that @dan will continue moving forward with EOS & we'll see some really great development with the EOS Blockchain.
I don't think most people really understand what EOS is and what the EOS Network will become. The sky's the limit on EOS growth in the future. Great post. Upvoted + Resteemed!
