Teach your sons .

We Indians are often heard teaching our beloved sons how to succeed in life. Study well, earn well , settle in life etc etc are some preachings that we often fill their little brains with right from the day they have started talking. But then what do we teach our girls ? Well we believe in equality, we teach our girls to be independent like our boys but we also add that they should be capable enough to cook well and look after the household along with holding a corporate job, why ????

Is being independent hard working and earning a six figure salary like her male counterpart not enough ? Why is the responsibility of managing the household forced upon the shoulder of our little girls , do we believe boys are not capable of doing it well ?

Well, I believe girls and boys hold equal responsibility towards house and kids.. every man should help his wife handle the household chores along with taking responsibility of the kids.

We Indians have different set of rules for different gender. We believe our boys should concentrate on earning well while girls should concentrate on finding a guy who could handle her expenses well and keep her happy. why can't a boy find a girl who could handle his expenses well or a girl find a good job and be independent?

That's what we are collectively doing wrong. Our new generation men have become so egoistic that they cannot handle the success of their female counterparts which leads to various social problems like rape , acid attacks , domestic violence etc . I do not claim that all men are same or a major percentage of men are like that , but there are few cases that we get to read in our daily newspapers .

As parents we should teach our sons to treat girls as equals. If he has a wife who earns better Than him then he should take pride in being her husband while we should teach our daughters to not aim to be first lady but eye the position of being the president.
