Houston we have a problem

in error •  7 years ago

I was replying to a post by @larkenrose, using Steemit, and after I submitted my reply, I noticed that the message I typed, and what was sent was not the same. It looked very similar to the same, and I would have missed it if I did not read my reply after I sent it. Some very subtle words word changed or just taken out.

Even as I went and I changed the reply to try and correct it thinking maybe I had created a typo, but even after correcting it, it would still change what was written

If anyone knows why this might have happened please let me know.

Here is a screenshot of what it looks like.

It might be an earlier version (which you didn't submit) has left in the memory and appeared as your "edit" in the preview.

On the blockchain I see only two modifications, the username: @larkenrose to Larken and a comma change to apostrophe: can,t to can't.

Initially when I made the post I did use @larkenrose, and was the initial time I saw something a miss, as it would pop up a message saying something to the effect of "if you want please connect with me directly" and appeared to be a link. I thought it might have been an error with the mention, so I removed the mention.

And of course, adding that apostrophe in can't.
But which version is in the blockchain? The posted or the written?

Also, how does one check the Steem blockchain?

Thank you for your comment.

Are you using steemitstage.com?

That is the site Steemit uses for testing new (maybe unstable) features. I hear rumours that direct messaging available there already. That could explain the popup message you saw. (i haven't saw it myself yet so can not be sure)

You can check if a post/comment was edited on the blockchain id you wisit the site: phist steemdata.com It contains only the already submitted and registered data from the blockchain sonthere is no way to look into this issue which is most likely was a glitch in the steemit.com (or steemitstage.com) site as you assumed.
