Here’s a list of some of my favourite comedy films!
Well, these aren’t all strictly comedy, I just needed an umbrella genre so the list made some sort of sense. Also these definitely aren’t all of my favourites (I’ve very indecisive) so I may change this up in the future.

I’m also going to preface this by saying that even though I’m wanting to be involved in the film industry as a career, I have basically no idea what I’m talking about so I’m definitely not going to pretend to be some film critic or whatever. This is just a list of films I’d like people to check out.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
How could I not include this on my list? Ferris Bueller is determined to bunk off school along with his best friend and girlfriend, and nothing can get in his way.
It’s such an iconic feel-good film, and I really wish I had actually watched it before I graduated for inspiration ;)
It teaches you to learn to relax, not take life too seriously and most importantly have fun. That and the soundtrack and styling is just excellent. I always love a good fourth wall break and Ferris Bueller does it just right.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
Basically Scott Pilgrim must defeat his new girlfriend, Ramona’s seven evil exes in order to win her heart. I think from my previous posts we can all agree, I’m a huge nerd. So this film was right up my alley (the manga is pretty sweet too). I love practically everything about it; the video game references, the transitions, the soundtrack and effects. I could re-watch this so many times and never get bored. Plus I love Edgar Wright, man’s a god. I am so hype to go see Baby Driver! EXPECT A REVIEW PEOPLE!
The Darjeeling Limited
Okay I’m a sucker for anything Wes Anderson, so sue me. Basically this is the tale of three brothers, a year on from their dad’s funeral, travelling across India by train as an attempt to bond with each other after losing contact. The style is just beautiful, as can be expected by any Anderson production, it really takes you along for the ride. I love how this film also manages to breach the subject of loss without being too intrusive or taking away from the "fun" tone of the film.
Deadpool (Obviously)
Who doesn’t at least like this loveable idiot? I’m so glad this film basically encompassed everything Deadpool is meant to be rather than going for a “safer” PG-13 route .
Ryan Reynolds was practically made to be Deadpool (as noted by even Deadpool himself in the comics) and I’m so glad that he was so passionate about fighting to bring this vision to life. Yes I'm pretending that his role in X-Men Origins didn't happen either.
There are so many little touches, even within the first few minutes with the credits, that just made it so enjoyable to watch. I cannot wait for the next one!
Super
Okay I was reminded of this one by Deadpool and lemme tell you guys, Super is a weird one. So weird that I had to not only make it bold but also italics, strap yourself in for a ride while watching this one. Basically think Kickass but more graphic and realistic. Rainn Wilson plays an average Joe who transforms himself into ‘The Crimson Bolt’, a “superhero”, in order to rescue his wife.
It’s pretty heart touching stuff mixed in with weird and funny and I don’t even know what to think about it still, I think I need to go see a therapist after this one.
And there’s plenty more where that came from!
Thanks for reading, do you guys have any recommendations?
