It’s not difficult to make esports predictions if you’re updated with the latest happenings within the esports community, particularly the biggest esports tournaments in CS:GO, DotA 2, and League of Legends. Let’s take a look at the latest news today:
CS:GO - Astralis’ Reign
Recently, Astralis became the IEM Beijing champions after taking down 100 Thieves in a B05 series. This isn’t surprising as Astralis is one of the strongest teams in the CS:GO competitive scene. They won the first-ever Intel Grand Slam Award and is constantly winning every Major tournament after that.
Despite their multiple achievements, their position is being threatened by the unstoppable Team Liquid. Astralis currently sits third in the HLTV World Rankings, sitting below Team Liquid and Team Vitality. More than that, Astralis is the only team to win four Majors in three years, including the previous IEM Katowice Major 2019, FACEIT Major: London 2018, and ELEAGUE Major: Atlanta 2017. That’s right, three of these victories are back-to-back wins. Astralis is the only team to succeed in this feat. League of Legends - Funplus Phoenix’s Surprise Win
Chinese team Funplus Phoenix recently won the League of Legends World Championship after sweeping G2 Esports in 3 games. The team was the first seed of League of Legends Pro League, and they entered strongly in the competition. However, many still consider them as underdogs since they were set to face powerhouse teams like SKT Telecom T1, Invictus Gaming, and their last rival G2 Esports.
Despite their position, however, the team managed to win the competition and shock the world. There will surely be more opportunities for FPX in the future. In the meantime, let’s wait for the next set of matches in this year’s LoL competitive scene.
DotA 2 - TNC Predator is Back In The Game
After their disappointing run at The International 9, TNC Predator is back in the game and now stronger than ever. They recently won the ESL One Championship, one of the earliest competitions in the DotA Pro Circuit (DPC) 2019-20 season.
The team, which is composed of Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte, "Armel" Paul Tabios, Timothy “Tims” Randrup, Damien “kpii” Chok, and Park “March” Tae-won defeated UK team Gambit Esports in the finals. March was crowned MVP. If you want to see more of TNC Predator in the future, cast your esports predictions now.
