d-Day is approaching as Essentia prepares for one of its most significant releases to date! After a year of design and refinement, the engineers are polishing off the desktop version of the Essentia app set to be released at the end of this month. This means no time for relaxing at the offices and the teams are working overtime! In this monthly update, we want to give you a brief overview of developments going on and we will take a look at what’s coming in the near future.
Let’s go!
Development
Essentia Desktop app
As mentioned earlier, the desktop version of the Essentia app is scheduled for release at the end of the August, so this month we have pooled our resources into its development. Let’s take a look at what has been done so far:
As of now, the cryptocurrencies Bitcoin, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, and Ethereum have been integrated. The function of a Cold Wallet has also been added to enable offline transactions. You can already synchronize your exchange assets with the Essentia wallet and send/receive your funds.
For exchanges, Flyp.me, IDEX, and Bitfinex are readily available for use within the Essentia Desktop app.
iOS and Android
Our efforts have gone beyond just working on the desktop app. Bearing in mind that the blockchain world needs efficiency and accessibility, we are continuing our development of the iOS and Android Essentia applications and we are making huge progress.

Community
Partnerships
During July, Essentia also established many successful partnerships, the most prominently Bitforex, one of the crypto industry’s most rapidly growing exchanges. Along with Bitforex, Essentia strengthened its cooperation with the blockchain investment fund, Crypto Capital.
Essentia has also joined forced with APIS, a blockchain project that focuses on masternode mediation and is considered one of the most promising in the industry. Essentia will now work with SWIPE, a network for mobile engagement data monetization.
Last but definitely not least, we have also joined forces with Cryptograph, one of Korea’s biggest and most influential crypto media outlets.
Each of the above-mentioned partnerships will greatly impact future development and help expand and strengthen Essentia’s thriving community.
Events
Did you see us in Korea last week? We visited the Korean Blockchain Week and Beyond Blocks — Asia’s most prominent blockchain conference. We had a chance to meet and speak with global leaders from the financial, business and blockchain sectors, as well as with previous collaborators and partners (e.g. the teams behind ORCA, GANA, and APIS).
See who else we met here!
The ESS token
Starting with the high-profile crypto exchange Bitfinex, the Essentia token has subsequently been listed on 8 exchanges, including the recent addition Flyp.me, the decentralized instant crypto exchange. Take a look at the list of every exchange where you can get your ESS!
Further discussions are taking place with different exchanges to expand our availability. We highly recommend you read up on the power of ESS and how much real-world utility you can get from the tokens.
What’s next?
In the following weeks, the Essentia team will devote itself to developing and refining the functionality and UI for the first version of the Essentia Desktop app. As a reminder, users will be able to send/receive assets, review their transaction history for each chain; add and delete wallets; exchange an enormous variety tokens on a list of crypto exchanges (including complete IDEX functionality); backup their various crypto accounts and much more.
We will also continue integrating the latest and most popular dApps to the desktop app based the monthly community votes on the dAppstore. You guys voted and we listened, so now Bancor and Digital Bitbox will be natively integrated into the framework! Soon enough you’ll be able to instantly try out these projects within Essentia. Don’t forget to cast your votes each month to see your favorite application integrated.
Soon enough we will integrate such applications as Forkdelta, Steemit, IPFS, Swarm, and OmiseGo. We will also make it possible to use Trezor and Ledger to access the desktop version as well.
As you can see it’s been a busy month and we’ve got even more ambition to carry over into August! Stay tuned, we have many more interesting updates in the works!
