Been using the app since January and find it tends to lag and sometimes hang when loading Wallet. Also, when claiming Rewards (although it completes the process despite the jam). I have to close the app and reopen and it's back to normal. Doesn't happen all the time though! Just an fyi :) Great work so far!

Thank you for the input! You are right, I have received numerous bug reports and mostly it looks like device is running out of fast memory when it crashes. I am working on performance improvements with next release so new release won't be rushed, will only be published after thorough tests.

Of course, after next release, please feel free to reach out if issues are still persistent. Btw, with memory I mean fast memory (RAM) where most of the application operations are being kept during usage. 😉

Please I am patiently waiting for the promised update that can make me use eSteem only. Now I cant upvote, follow or unfollow with mine. I believe I am not the only one this is affecting. You can resort to doing peace meal update instead of waiting for many bug correction before you update. That will keep more people to use eSteem.

eSteem desktop v1 is available and should be functional after changing websocket address from Settings page to wss://steemd.steemit.com.
But v2 is in progress which will be announced soon with initial beta release...

Nice add ons... by the way I forgot the site to send bug alerts to... so I will quickly mention that the sound on embedded videos in posts do not work. However the issues I had previously have been taken care of by downloading a new app. Thanks for your dedication to the app.

Even yesterday, eSteem was a good companion on our Father's Day walk, as I have already reported. Only the app still crashes sometimes, and closes by itself. Also your tip I took into account and made a complete reinstallation. But the result remains the same. Nevertheless, the app does what it should and is an excellent means to always be up to date. Thank you for your excellent work my friend!

Top right corner you have menu where you can change theme to Day mode or Night mode.

Thank you that menu was heavy to find. Maybe it's a good idea, to add an option to the settings. Because I was searching this option there. For me it's logic to search the option in settings 😂

I also have found a bug for the night mode. This looks not so nice but isn't important to fix.

Ok, trying to be helpful here. Since most of the things I identified are already reported here (data consumption and crashes due to loads of increase of memory cache for the app).
The app looks stunning, and it has an amazing flow to explore content from posts (one of the things I value most is how fast something allows me to learn). I would even enhance it with a customised selection of topics added to some swiping functionality to move between topic groups.

Other cool features to add:

(Android) NFC "follow me" and "resteemit"
(iPhone) AirDrop?? "follow me" and "resteemit"
Posts around me (allow optionally GPS to inform about your location and also discover who's arround posting on Steem)
More swiping (like going back and forward on history) and fewer menu jumps (I believe it's something I like.. so this one is personal).
Fingerprint unlocking (additional to pin unlocking)
Read post (synthetic voice reading the post)
Write from voice (ability to write using voice)

Anyway.. I am actively promoting this around my friends. Amazing work.

I recently started using eSteem on my iPhone 7. It's buggy here and there and has an occasional crash, but I'll say this is what will drive Steemit. Most of my friends who would not try steemit.com are giving eSteem a try. Thanks for the updates and the hard work :)

From post page to back to feed page or across all pages? We had users reporting that it caused unnecessary go backs during surfing. Now considering to enable that feature back because we have improved navigation quite a bit.

The app is fantastic! One the crash bugs are fixed it will be alot more painless, but its nothing to relauch the app and a great start to get steemit on the move to compete with the likes of facebook/twitter. I'm wondering if there is a better way to display the tags, or where is the best place to see the roadmap/what is being worked on or future features? Trello would be cool to see bug process and development. Just my thoughts and thanks again for your work! :)

Project is financed/supported by community in general and witness fund also contributes to those developments of other apps like SteemPoll, SteemMonitor, SteemFest and few other not announced ones. Also eSteem is using beneficiaries feature that with time hope to create self-sustaining model. There are more than 130 people contributed to the project for translations and logo designs and other means, mostly voluntary basis, but also receiving reward/support from the community.

Nice work on the app, it only brought up a BIG problem that made me uninstall the app. The app used up all my mobile data. After I first noticed the problem I uninstalled, and thought maybe a fresh install wouldn't have the problem :p

Thanks for screenshots! I am thinking ways to control image downloads, from my tests I can see that image downloads are taking up majority of the traffic usage. Because people add different sized images and some of them are higher than 1mb or in some cases 10mb which exhaust mobile internet usage. Caching seem to decrease and limit re-download of images, but longer term solution would be to manually download each image. Rest assured I am on it ;)
Btw, you could try using Compact mode instead of Card mode, it should help while you are surfing through posts, but when you open post it will downloads the images.

That's something very abnormal though!
So you opened app and logged in and after quick surfing, closed app and that's all? Rest of the data is from background data and notifications? Hmmm

It seems like it. Maybe it was loading the news feed in background the second time I installed the app since I could not log in due to lag. It used 2.2GB on my WiFi.

It used the data in background, because I was far from home and had not touched the app.

Yes it does, thanks! I have now implemented to disable API fetching when app is in background. Also working on Setting where user can choose to enable auto download of images or manual downloads to which user has to tap on image to see/download that image. ;)
