i LOVE silver coins! my dad and i used to collect coins together when i was a kid. the Morgan dollar is my fav, but those are some nice Maple Leaves you got there.... what's the deal with those real-life Bitcoins? what are they made out of? do they actually stay tied to the value of BTC crypto???

This one is made of silver and has a private key under an hologram on the other side.

Given who the creator is, I would say they are the only physical bitcoins that can be trusted with the security of it's content.

For those asking the stupid questions, these coins were simply made for aesthetic purposes and serve as a physical idea of the underlying cryptocoin and do not possess it's value. The monetary value if any, will only be determined by the substance or metal used in making the coin. The silver and casascius will have a value based on the existing price of the metal per specified weight and not by the CRYPTO it represents

Just to add a little bit more history. The creator, Casascius stopped the sales of those coins in 2013 supposedly because his operation was against federal and state regulations.

The man is from Utah, he resides like 15 minutes away from my location. And no, I do not know him. I just know this man is from that area.

Ive been researching silver coins and collections of them. It really is interesting,but to me its hard to put money into a coin that sits in a drawer most of the time. However, i think i will put some money down, probably about $300 to get the collection started. If i dont like collecting after holding 1 in my hand, then ill quit

I used to have a collection of old money, but I left it behind when I moved. The oldest coin that I had was over 200 years old (I know it is not that much, but for me it was a lot) and another remarkable one, was a silver coin that was about 38 grams which is a lot, it was ~three times bigger than a regular coin. This photo reminds me of them...
