Meugang is a tradition that has fallen down in Aceh. A day before entering the holy month Ramadan people of Aceh will do the tradition of Meugang it. Meugang is also a place of silaturrahmi among others, let alone the people who are going to go back to gampong respectively for Meugang with family and also runs fasting at Gampong.
Meugang is a tradition of cooking a variety of meat dishes such as beef, goat and others then eat it together with family members. on the day meugang animal market becomes very crowded visited the community to buy fresh cattle meat to take home then cooked by you mom at home. Usually the buy the market is the father and the mother in charge of cooking at home.

This buying procession is the climax of the top of the meugang tradition. the fathers seemed to race first to the meat market to get fresh meat. Usually ready dawn meat market is crowded people come to buy or even to just look around alias to enliven Meugang.

Meat sellers at very many times usually. The night before meugang they have slaughtered the animal that will be sold tomorrow day time Meugang day. Well, one more thing unique to the tradition of Meugang. The price of meat, especially beef, is higher than the usual day.
