Buntal, also called blowfish, may not be blessed with speed or agility, but these low profile and rigid fish have the magical ability to increase its size several-fold to intimidate potential predators. The fish has an elastic stomach, and "expands" by gulping water and air so it becomes bloated like a ball. The puffer fish, though considered delicious in Japan (fugu), is also very poisonous. Fish contains toxic tetrodotoxin, a poison that is up to 1,200 times more efficacious than cyanide and is always fatal to humans. In fact, a pufferfish is equipped with enough poison to kill 30 adult humans !!
