in esteem •  6 years ago  (edited)

Olympieion or The Temple of Zeus in Athens was completed during the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in the 2 nd century AD, after 638 years from when the project stared. The temple was built in an open space of 250 x 130 m.

The Corinthian columns that remain are unusually tall at 17,25 m and they have a diameter of 1,7 m and 20 flutes. The long side of the temple had 20 columns and the short one 8 columns. The Temple of Zeus had 104 columns; they were placed in double rows along the long size and in triple rows at the short size.

Only 15 columns remain today; some of the material was reused at other buildings and one column collapsed in 1852 in a storm.

Hi @ anca3drandom i think the price is cheap if you think about what will you visit, i mean in that place you find art, history and excellence and all tha by 36 EUR sounds good, what are the popular dishes there? heheh i want to know that. Regards

In the price of 30 euro you get to visit 7 sites. Since I am a vegetarian I mostly ate salads and pita bread with vegetarian burgers. Pita bread is a traditional Greek food.

Everything captured beautifully ! Great shots dear !!

Very good your post my friend
