a lot of assumption that the inventor of the first plane was a wright brothers
but you know that there is a name of ibn Firnas who first discovered it
This is an old fact that is rarely known to the public: the first man to fly was not Orville and the Wilbur Wright brothers in the United States in 1903. Both are indeed the first to fly using a tool called an airplane. However, Muslim scientists have developed the principles of flight one millennium before. Abbas Ibn Firnas, a mathematician, astronomer, physicist, and aviation expert of Muslims from the 9th century, was recorded as the first man to develop aviation and fly successfully.

ibn Firnas managed to fly using a glider, a simple flying instrument equipped with wings. Meanwhile, undoubtedly, Wright was the inventor and aviator of the first aircraft. Ibn Firnas's flying instrument is still simple. However, the success of Ibn Firnas testing and flying his tools in 852 inspired Western scientists to develop the aircraft. That means 1164 years ago.

Ibn Firmas was born in Izn-Rand Onda (now Ronda, Spain) in 810 AD. This Moroccan man lived during the reign of the Umayyad Caliph in Andalusia (Spain). During his lifetime, a genius who lived in Cordoba is known as a versatile scientist and mastered a variety of scientific disciplines. According to some sources, Abbas's interest in aeronautics began when he witnessed the attraction of a brave man named Armen Firman.

Year 875, when he was 65 years old, Ibn Firnas designed and made a flying device that can carry passengers. He then invited the Cordoba people to take part in his historic flight at Jabal Al-'Arus (Mount of the Bride) in Rusafa area, near Cordoba. Before flying test, Ibn Firnas had a good-bye, anticipating if his flight failed."Right now, I'm going to say goodbye, I'll move by flapping my wings, which should make me fly like a bird, if all goes well I can come back safely"
The flight was a success. Ibn Firnas was able to fly for 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the way is not appropriate to make a fatal landing. Ibn Firnas slammed into the ground with his "plane" and suffered a broken bone in the back. The accident happened because he forgot to add a tail to his tool. Ibn Firnas does not take into account the importance of the tail as the part used to slow the pace of landing as birds do when using their tails. Abbas Ibn Firnas died in 888. He could not survive the pains caused by a back injury suffered while conducting his homemade pilot test.

Ibn Firnas' flying experience became a lesson for other scientists. His ideas continue to be studied by other scientists afterwards. The abbot is not only the inventor of the first airplane. He is also known as a versatile scientist who mastered various scientific disciplines. He studied lightning and lightning, made astronomical tables, and created colored glasses. In fact, Ibn Firnas discovers a water clock called Al-Maqata. In the field of astronomy, He also developed a chain-ring model used to explain the pattern of movement of planets and stars. For his contribution to science, some countries even give special honor.
Libyan government issued a stamp pictorial Abbas Ibn Firnas to commemorate it.
Iraq also built the first aviator statue around its international airfield and perpetuated its name as the airport name north of Baghdad.
Recently its name is used as the name of the bridge in its hometown, Cordoba. Armen Firman name itself becomes the name of one of the craters on the moon
