TTHE WRITERS' BLOCK: GETTING OVER

in esteem •  6 years ago

Hi, my name is Belemo and I like to write.
Sometimes I don't even have a topic to write about but I still do it anyways. It feels right to write, its my right to write. I write for... Never mind.
So anyways, today's one of those days. I've been struggling with this pesky mental challenge called the writers' block. The words simply aren't flowing like they're suppose to. I'm also battling with horny demons that make my genitals blue but that's a topic for another day.
I guess there are others like me who have this same issue with their balls writing, so I thought I'd share the way I get out of this hunch.

SIP SLOW AND WRITE

I find alcohol in small doses to be rather helpful. Something the thoughts/words are jammed by some mental inhibitors that prevent us from coming up with that master piece that could be upvoted by @curie. Alcohol waltz right into that cranium, tickles the brain and suddenly, all the juices start working.

TAKE A BREAK

The mind of a writer is constantly trying out words. Writers are always thinking up ways to produce a piece of writing that'll capture the attention of the audience and this is a rather tedious process. Sometimes, its best to take a short break from writing and do something else to get your mind off the work. Your mind will be refreshed and the brain juices will definitely wet that piece of sheet.

DO MORE RESEARCH

This is a place I've been in a lot of times. I often find myself stranded when I don't have enough information about the topic at hand. Search the internet for sources related to your topic to draw inspiration from, they will guide your mind at times and bring you out of the hunch.

Personally, I like to combine these principles. Its very easy to get so immersed in a piece of writing that one gets totally disillusioned by the same piece. It is therefore necessary to always find a way to come back to the basics.

Hi @belemo, you grew up man not bad! (I remember you from the freewrite when your icon was a sticky man). Good content and I like the booze part.. the writers block melts away progressively, I'd say that we have to minimise and consider it just like a normal brain mechanism. Keep it up!

Thanx @f3nix. Booze always helps. I still try to keep up with the freewrites. There's been a lot of progress on that front too.

If you like writing, I suggest you to give an eye to my finish the story contest week#13 .. a good chance to win 3 sbi shares and steem dollar payout 😉

Yeah, I will check it out on your page

It's another day already, tell us about your horny demons

Writer's block is a pain to deal with. Sometimes I tried to change genres and write something completely different than what I'm currently working on. When I go back to the other piece I'm refreshed because I went anywhere and opened up that writers vein. I also find music very inspiring.

Yeah, I forgot to add that. I always have music playing in the background, sometimes it helps while other times its a source of distraction to me
