The past few days have been really hectic. As a matter of fact, I haven't had a decent sleep for 48 hours now due to planning and organizing several charity events and reunions, one of which I will share today.
Organizing charity events have been a yearly tradition for me and my friends. This year, I want to pass on this practice to my fellow teachers. So, I came up with an idea of an outreach program within our small group, the faculty from the English Department.
Fortunately, they supported this idea, and gave their time, energy, and money to materialize the program.
Earlier today, we conducted our outreach activity to one of the day care centers in Tagum City, Philippines. We chose these children as our beneficiaries because we believe that Christmas is for children. We want them to feel the spirit of Christmas by sharing our blessings and giving joy to them.
It was a brief program but definitely memorable. Some of the things we prepared for the kids were parlor games, story telling, giving of gifts, and fellowship snacks.
Instead of giving toys, we gave them school supplies, something that they can really use. As educators, we have a high reverence for our fellow teachers, especially those who are teaching at day care centers and private schools. So, the children's teacher, Ma'am Sally, also received a gift from us.
It was indeed a merry Christmas for teacher Sally and the kids!
It's in moments like this that I am reminded that it is not how much you have that counts, but how much you are willing to give. To my fellow teachers and everyone who donated, I'm grateful.
May the spirit of Christmas fill our hearts with warmth and joy. Happy Christmas, loves! 😍
