Traffic Engineering Ahead of the Asian Games, Ampera Bridge will be Closed

The provincial government of South Sumatra plans to do traffic engineering on the protocol road from H-7 to H + 7

"For the Ampera Bridge, private vehicles are not allowed to pass, so all vehicles pass the alternate route in Musi II or Musi IV, in Ampera there will be only passing city transport," said Head of Transportation of South Sumatra, Nelson Firdaus, Wednesday / 7/2018).

As for Musi IV, whose development progress has only reached 85%, Nelson is optimistic to be functioned during the Asian Games. However, to be able to pass, Dishub will apply the system open-close.

The open-close system is enforced because, in land acquisition on the bridge project, there are unfinished ones. Therefore, there is a narrowing of roads across Ulu and Ilir Musi IV Bridge.

"There is a narrowing of the road leading to the access of Musi IV Bridge, of course this is also an open-closed consideration there," said Nelson.

The same thing is said Head of Operations and Traffic Dishub Palembang Martha Edison. According to him, people who want to cross Ampera Bridge during Asian Games can only use Trans Musi and LRT buses.

"Ampera is closed, but there will be 50 Trans Musi buses that will be used to transport the Asian Games to Jakabaring, or alternatively using LRT, it is already operational," Martha said.

Still according to Martha, 50 buses are aids from the Ministry of Transportation. Buses are ready to operate from H-7 to H + 7 Asian Games.

"H-7 to H + 7 buses operate, for vehicles passing in Ampera it will all be given a special sticker, not all vehicles can pass, let alone a private car," he said.
