Clicked #71: The Land of Forts !!!

in esteem •  6 years ago

Hello Friends,
I hope most of you are back after HF20 update.
This is my second post after HF20 update.

Today, in this post I am going to introduce you guys with the another beautiful state of India, "RAJASTHAN".

India is the most diverse Country, I have known so far.
From the snow capped mountains to the ocean of deserts, you can find every geographic land in Indian.

I have been posting mostly about Himachal Pradesh lately, where I talked about the diversity of mountains and nature itself.
Today I will talk about the deserted area of India.
Rajasthan is a land of never ending desert making it the largest state of India by area.
Rajasthan is famous for it’s History, Culture, Historic places and The Thar Desert.

Covering most of its area “The Thar Desert” is the 18th largest desert of the world.
The resplendent forts and spectacular palaces make Rajasthan a magnet for history & art lover.

I got a chance to visit one of the most famous fort “Amer Fort” (Jaipur), built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh (The King).
It is made over a Hill named as Cheelon ka Teela – meaning the hillock on which the eagles live and the wall of Amer fort is the third longest wall in the world.

The frescos made at the entrance and walls of the fort are mysteriously beautiful.
Our guide told us that few of the frescos were specially made according to the king, which he used to test the intelligence of his guest.
And there is an underground tunnel of several miles which was used to escape the queens and the ladies if the war took place.

Kings used to make beautiful gardens for the queen. Here are the clicks.

Rajasthan is also known for its Royal hospitality.
People there are welcoming and respectful.
“Khma ghani” are the greeting words there.
The Rajasthani food and dance (Ghoomar) makes it a must visit place in India.

Thanks for taking us on this virtual tour. India is a country I know quite little about. I believe there is some Indian heritage in my family, but it dates back quite a few generations now.

As you mentioned, when I think of India, I think of deserts and quite deserted areas. Then, on the other side of the coin, those images of trains literally packed and overflowing in the cramped cities. I've never seen the side of India you have presented here.

It really looks as though the kings did like to construct extravagant gardens for their queens.

Thanks for stopping by @steveblucher India has everything

A very diverse country by the looks of it and thanks for sharing your Indian adventure here. I guess where better for royalty to protect itself than in the middle of a large desert! Awesome :)

You are welcome @nickyhavey and thanks for wonderful comment

Well, I love views of deserts and that's why I like the photo of a river and reflections of a fort or palace in it. The colors match my taste the most.

I am deeply interested in the Thar desert and I will be spending some time learning about it soon, I guess.

Good luck and fare well!

Wao thank you so much for wonderful comment @manoldonchev india have Himalayas also
