While preparing a long post on AI advancement and its consequences, I couldn't help but notice how the world was changing.

The focus the world is now placing on tech and smart innovation, as against the industrial revolutions of years past.

I remember back then, how it wasnt so common being a developer, a programmer.

The advent of tech, blockchain in particular and AI, has had a ripple effect on the way we see devopers and programmers.

The revolution

It wasnt so long ago that computer geeks and nerds were the bottom feeders in classes. Often getting the bulk of the insults and getting called weird.

Even in africa here, we still had instances of that.

I remember back in school where the kids who did really well in computers, and book were seen as weak, stuck up know it alls.

Today, the number of kids running to study computer science, php, java, c++ etc, have sky rocketed because it seems thats the way the world is moving too.

A funny article I read put it this way

*"the kids long forgetten and bullied had swore to have their revenge, and revenge they did have, for now they control and contribute to the peak of humanity's advancement and progress" *

I couldn't agree more with that statement.

The likes of bill gates, steve jobs, elon musk, etc now control multiple million dollar industries.

Celebrities now

As if that werent enough, blockchain came out so silently in 2009 that the few who actually had access to it from 2009-2013 were basically the most nerdy types or those interested in programming.

Heck, back then, there wasnt any fancy interface to access your cryptos.

Today, those people are our bitcoin whales, whales who control the market.

The rise of crypto in 2017 as well as the steady rise in AI, machine learning and other related tech has raised the status of the programmer from lowly fancy app designers, to celebrity stars, being paid millions for solutions that could change the world.

In a way, I envy them, Ionce had the chance to study computer science, but I blew it, thinking it unimportant.

O how I wish i had continued.

I Celebrate programmers today cause they have changed their world and situation.

The world is changing, and I see the programmers, developers, as the celebrities of the future.

Thanks!!
