According to a report from Deadline, Oscar-winning artist, Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl, Ex Machina, Jason Bourne) will become the lead actor in a film project titled The Marsh King's Daughter. A thriller film adapted from a 2007 novel by Karen Dionne. Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game, Passengers) will direct this film with a script written by Elle Smith and Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, Overlord).
The story of this film will follow his novel which tells of the figure of Helena Petterier (Vikander). His perfect life began to bother him after he learned that the real father who had taken hostage and tortured himself and his mother in a swamp for 12 years had escaped from prison. To protect her husband and daughter she then decided to solve this "problem" herself. Helena decides to hunt and kill her father.
Vikander himself will soon appear as Lara Croft in the movie Tomb Raider and Submergence with James McAvoy. He will also soon be shooting for the Freak Shift film project along with Armie Hammer.
