A reality that destroys our hearts and the lives of many Venezuelans. There are states where there is no light for 2 days, nobody knows what happens, but you know while I am here complaining and more than 80 people have lost their lives because in the hospital where they were there is no light.
It is incredible that a country with the hydrocarbon reserve that Venezuela has is living all this. We are in darkness, unable to communicate and with a latent fear of knowing what will happen. Taking advantage of the moments where there is light and Internet. Receiving messages from family who are out of the country to know how we are doing.
It is not easy to say what we feel due to the situation in the country. Here in my house we have only been 8 or 9 hours without electricity, but if we have been more time without telephone signal and without Internet.

I am so sorry to hear what is happening in Venezuela. You mentioned the abundance of hydrocarbon resources. The population is educated, as well. So how did this happen? The culprit can only be government. Bad decisions have impoverished a rich nation. Finger pointing and blame game are now in full swing. This of course helps no one. I hope the people of Venezuela can get a fresh start and work their way out of this mess. Good luck to you all.

When I mentioned bad governmental decisions, it encompasses all of that. Failing to get along with your neighbors and fomenting conflicts you can't win is an example of bad governmental decisions that the populace is stuck with when the bill shows up.

If this is the case, then the Venezuelan Gov. is basically screwed... Chilean President Salvador Allende is but one example of outside intervention in Latin America which was totally out of that country’s control or decision...

That would be one example of when the idea that people create their own hell was not completely true. You can always find an exception to the rule. Pointing to the outlier does not negate the trend

Quiet. Here there have been not so much power cuts as in other states of the country. Saturday was the longest that was like 16 or 17 hours without light. Yesterday it has not left and today neither what comes and goes is the internet
