PRAYERS OF A FRUSTRATED ILLITERATE TEENAGER

I do not know if it's right I observed this. I do not know if it's right that I'm sharing it. But let me do, anyway.Towards some programme held by my church, members were givenforms on which they'd write the things they want God to do for them. On one of the days during the almost one-week programme, the man of God told all in attendance to lift up their forms as he prayed for the intentions individually written. Albeit, some persons had not picked any form until the time. For such persons, I inclusive, ushers went round handing forms. We began writing our requests. Hurriedly. While you could see that some persons had written so much, othershad written just a few words. I noticed this teenager who sat a few columns away from me struggle with what to write. From his body language, I could tell he had so much to write, but just couldn't. He could not spell. However, he had written just one word and could none else. Frustrated, he stood up and joined in the prayer.Jesus. That's the word the boy had written. Perhaps, he wanted to ask Jesus for the things teenagers his age would ask for, or for something for his loved ones. Well, he would see the things he wished for happen—the things he couldn't write. And while he may have thought himself deficient, he didn't know he had written down the most simple yet profound of requests. Jesus Christ is everything—every request one can ever make. He's a plate of yam porridge, fine grades, good clothes and brown shoes and what haveyou. If you're reading this and there is something bothering you; something limiting you, take a deep breath. Look within yourself. Pray if you have to, but rest assured that this thing that bothers youwill turn out to be the gateway for all things beautiful.Stay sane, human. God loves you.
