Rice (Latin: Oryza sativa L.) is one of the most important cultivation in civilization. Although mainly refers to the type of cultivated plant, rice is also used to refer to several species of the same genus, commonly referred to as wild rice. Rice is thought to have originated from India or Indochin and into Indonesia brought by an ancestor who migrated from mainland Asia around 1500 BC.
