Phnom Penh Cambodia Room Service Meal

I stayed in Phnom Penh for a week on one of my first Visa trips out of Thailand. That chaotic city was an enjoyable place where you really have to stay on your toes to be safe. Fortunately I was staying in a wonderful oasis in the center of town.

My hostel/hotel was a jungle paradise enclosed by a wall and had one of the nicest pools I have ever used. Next to the pool they an inexpensive bar/restaurant open from breakfast to midnight.

This is the first meal I had from the restaurant. It is chicken curry and was delivered to my room for $4 USD. Later I would eat downstairs to save $1, but I got this at the end of my exhausting travel day in.

Everything was delicious and hit the spot when I was very hungry. It was not too spicy and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I cannot tell you anything about the sauce in the middle. I am sure it was very hot and people from SE Asia would love it!

This was the start of a lot of good food in Cambodia. I was shocked at how fresh and delicious everything was in that place. Flavors were constantly popping out at me here.

When I was not eating at the hotel, I was driven around by a tuk-tuk driver I found online who came highly recommended. I always asked him to find me cheap local food heavy on BBQ’d meat, and he came through with great meals every time.
