The day before we talked about Dubrovnik, Croatia, which is a very popular tourist attraction.
Let's talk today about Kotor from Montenegro, which probably rises very close in some ways to Dubrovnik, as far as we could tell.
We didn't know about Kotor when we arrived in Montenegro, but we searched for something to do on a rainy day, and hoped the rain would eventually stop. It didn't, on the contrary it was quite heavy at times, but we are used to it, so it doesn't stop us on vacations.
Ok, so let's meet Kotor!
Here's one of the entrances... you guessed... to the old town. Seems to be the theme of this vacation, and we all like to see what was once possible with less advanced technologies, and we often forget these days.
Very close to this entrance is the docking place for cruise ships like this one:
The final objective of this tourist attraction is to reach this high point, captured with the highest zoom my phone is capable of...
...and it takes around 1400 steps to get there, or about an hour, we found out from the tourist info center.
We gave up on that challenge, especially considering the heavy rain periods and that we have two small children with us.
However, let's walk in and through the old town and enjoy some photos...
Let's stop here, shall we?
This was our last vacation day, tomorrow we'll be heading back. But I might have another post tomorrow on the same topic.
Kotor is the most beautiful town in Montenegro... When I was there, it was sunny day and people who lived there were drying their clothes between houses terraces (because the streets are very narrow) :)
Not very interesting for tourists, but for me it was cool.. Because, people still live in those old stone houses and the town is not just a museum...
Great photos as always! It's a pity that you had rain almost every day of vacation... :(

Yeah, it happens with rain. I'm ok with that. And true, Kotor seem a lot more... authentic than other destinations.
