Short Visit to Dubrovnik, Croatia

It was short the actual visiting time, because it was about a 3 hours, maybe more drive time between locations, considering we had to cross a border too, and it was a long line toward Croatia. Plus a cross over a lake by boat, which saved us a detour and going briefly through another country (Bosnia & Herzegovina). Going by boat is a nice change, instead of continuous driving.

Our surprise when we arrived in Dubrovnik was that we could barely find a parking space, even paid, not reserved to residents.

And the resort seems packed full even now. You wouldn't say we are still off season.

We barely had time to visit the old town and to have lunch, but I'm sure there would have been much more to see there, because Dubrovnik is quite large and very beautiful from what else we could see from the speed of our car.

Here are a few pictures from the old town, which probably don't do it justice.

We chose not to pay for access above, but I kinda regret that decision because I believe the view would have been spectacular.

But still plenty to see from the ground level.

That's about it from yesterday. Not a lot of walking, but I think the short trip was worth it. We also discovered two nearby small airports which can be useful if we ever want to return in the area (although we often look for places where we haven't been before - us and the Enterprise ship :D ).
