I'm encountering a lot of problems with this version. I can't use any of my drafts. Editing a post is almost impossible, even creating one is really hard. It's become useless right now. I hope you will fix it.

Yes, app should notify you when there is new update. If you were using old version of Surfer, you should also be able to update seemlessly.

That's great! It's just so annoying to use versions that updates very frequently, and you have to manually download an installer each time. So this is good to hear :)

I was looking forward to this update. There are many good things but I have to talk about what didn't work for me.

I do not know how to do a reblog
I do not know how to edit the post
I can not take a draft from drafts and edit it in Create Post
I do not know how to delete Create post after posting (Clear All did not work)
Cannot use copy-paste...only ctrl+c and ctrl+v

Can you help me and tell me how to do this actions? Thank you!

Hi @bluemoon, thank you for checking out the update. Since this was ground up new app with performance and new design in mind, we didn't include above mentioned features yet. We are working on them and expect weekly and later bi-weekly updates on Surfer. Which will have all features from v1 and more...

used to be an icon now, I've got to type it out myself. Totally can't copy and paste. I've got Draft then No Drafts then totally got removed.

Sure hope that this gets resolved soon @good-karma. Missing using esteem for my post.

if you really miss eSteem posting you can stay on eSteem Surfer 1.1.12 for now as I do. But keep looking on @esteemapp news for future releases. That missing features will be added soon.

Yes, just download and install old version and once you start it ignore message about 2.0 update untill you want to upgrade it https://github.com/esteemapp/esteem-surfer/releases/tag/1.1.12

Thank you! Version 2.00 looks very good and I'm sure it will be a pleasure to use it for maximum capacity. I have gone through every update to the latest version and I've always found something new, an improvement. That's why I made these observations, believing there are some escapes or bugs. Because I participate in various challenges I have to fast post and I need drafts. It was the reason that I noticed ... in the desire to help.
I have only been using eSteem Surfer for a long time and that's why I was upset that I had to go to Steemit to make an edit. After that, it appeared that the post was made in Steemit ... and it's not so!
Thanks for the answer and clarification, I look forward to the final version of eSteem Surfer 2.00 and I will probably use eSteem Surfer 1.1.12 for a couple of weeks, as @dunsky suggests.

I have exact same feelings and user experience on new alpha release, so I understand what you are trying to tell. I also rely on drafts and schedules a lot right now, using 3 different accounts and preparing posts for my own blog and for other projects daily, that's why I have to stick with old Surfer 1.1.12 still. But I believe we will shift to 2.0 pretty soon. Maybe next week or in few weeks we will have all the functions we miss and it will work even better than legacy version.

I can't make surfer updates, because the notebook I use doesn't support 64 bits.

Sound Good, this awesome Update from eSteem Team.

This is my first comments using eSteem Surfer Alpha. I got great experience with this, I saw very nice interface, and friendly to eyes of user with night mode.

I see additional features for VP display and RC status.

Just upgraded the new esteem surfer app on windows and it looks great!

bugs i found and not sure if this is the best platform for feedback but here goes:

I can't seem to find notifications. Your screenshot has the nifty bell icon next to the profile pic, mine has none:
My search does not seem to work either.

Any suggestions on how to get around this?

eSteem Surfer 2.0.0 alpha don't have notification center implementation yet. It will be added in future releases. Hopefully very soon.

You can use SteemConnect or any of your keys (Master, Active or Posting). And your keys never leaves your device. They are encrypted and additionally protected with PIN code you can choose during the first start of app.

Thank you for the updated version, but I have a question:

I'm trying to paste the text from my draft, but it doesn't work, the quote I also couldn't paste into the text;
I uploaded a photo for my post, but can't set as a click on the image for advanced mode;
after updating the new version, I couldn't copy the login key, I had to enter it manually :(
what have I done wrong?

Please try the hotkeys Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste for now if you are on Windows or Command+C and Command+V on Mac.

Yes, it's possible to use eSteem Surfer 1.1.12 still. You can get it from eSteem official github https://github.com/esteemapp/esteem-surfer/releases/tag/1.1.12 once you install it it will tell there is an update to 2.0 just ignore it unless you want to update...

Well downloading it and installing it on Windows 10, worked like a dream. Also the connection with steemconnect went flawless.
This is my first comment ever written via the esteem surfer app. Will try to create a first post tomorrow.

I have noticed a few things while writing a post on surfer :

the two lifts (typing part and viewing the post side) are going together which is really not practical and I suppose it is a bug because if both sides were aimed to go go together, they would have been only one lift
It is hard to quite impossible to select a few lines because it goes too quickly and I almost cry out of despair with that function, as I use a lot the copy, cut, paste for my translation work ...LoL
it would be great that the upvote case would be un-ticked by default...I thought to unchecked the first time I saved into draft, but not the second time I have selected the draft and published..which waste my vote ;-)

I suppose that our notifications and the possibility of resteem will come later, cause I trust the good work you are all making ^_^

ooh , and I love the fact that I can switch my two account and stay on the post I was...How cool is that? =)) And also the side profile opening when I click on someone's name that comment on my post, this is genious !

I have some more things I have noticed in the new version :

when we go to a reply, we can not reach the former comment or post it does refer to, which is annoying ;-)
my draft won't clear out automatically once published, so now that I want to write a post, the place is busy with my yesterday post, which wouldn't be a problem if I could clear it, but it doesn't work... :-( So I can not write nor publish from surfer at the moment)

I have a question : how can I come back to the former version during the time of improvement ?

eSurfer is looking dope! Been on the prowl for a robust desktop client to engage on Steemit and this is shaping up to be a great experience. UI is looking clean too. I'll probably wait until standard features are implemented slowly but great job to the people working hard on 2.x

Good idea to stick with Surfer 1.1.12 for now. I am also using Legacy Surfer as my daily driver now but keeping Surfer 2.0.0 alpha separate window open for tests and just to enjoy it's look :P

I just installed this as I was at Steemfest before. I see people have raised some issues such as a lack of notifications. Other things I noticed:

Upvote set by default when composing a post. I'd prefer that to be off
After I published a post it stayed in the editor. Clear All is not working.

I'm sure you are working on this. I'm using Ubuntu and I see eSteem is in their app store, but only the older version for now. I may revert to that as I like the notifications.

Thank you for the feedback Steve! With the alpha release, we reached the biggest milestone because it was written from scratch with performance and UX in mind. So expect more weekly updates to catch up with functionality/feature set of v1... Was great to see you again!

Some other people have also reported the issue with 32-bit OS. We found and fixed issue, update is coming on Monday with some more additions. Stay tuned!
