Tips to prevent leaf beetles

in esteem •  5 years ago

Hi steemians!!!

At that time, the cultivators of plants that produce fruit lately are often disturbed by the type of beetles who always like green plants. The beetle is present every 6 months of the year with a large population.

So that its presence in the farmer's garden makes the harvest fails, crops that are often attacked by them like the Tien plants that have just been cultivated by Aceh farmers.

Insects that often attack Tien plants are one type of Leaf Beetle that has larvae in eating the green leaves. If compared the parent and larvae are faster than the parent larvae, because the parent deliberately laying their eggs on the leaves for hatching process so that when the eggs hatch, the larvae are able to spend the leaves in an instant.

Leaf beetle eggs

After conducting the mating process when the breeding season arrives, the mother will lay her eggs behind the leaves. According to the information from the farmers they say that the eggs will hatch quickly, in general they will hatch in a period of 1 to 2 days if the temperature is hot but if the rainy season sometimes reaches one week.

When the eggs hatch into larvae, the larvae are still 1 day old and will eat fresh buds and they are very greedy so they can quickly destroy the tips of the Tien leaves. Then the plant will be stunted in growth and sometimes the plant dies.

Hatched beetle eggs can be said to be always successful if it is calculated it will get a percentage of 80-90%.
Then it can be concluded that the presence of leaf beetles has tremendous destructive potential in their attacks. But when he becomes a parent, he is not as greedy as his larvae.

How to prevent it

So in this case I will give simple tips to prevent its presence, these tips are based on references from successful Tien plant cultivators, with the following tips,

1. Control
One of the main things that you do so that plants multiply so that you have to do is always observe them every morning and evening at least once a day. This is done so that you know whether your plants are controlled in healthy or not.

Discard contaminated leaves

When you observe your plants every morning or evening you will see leaves that have been placed beetle eggs, when you find a leaf that has been contaminated you have to break the shoots so that your plants are not attacked by beetle larvae that will hatch within 2 days.

Use pesticides

If your Tien plant is very large then doing it at point 2 is very difficult, to make it easier then spray it with pesticides because it makes it easy for you to anticipate it.

If your Tien plant on a small scale is enough to just break the leaf buds that have been contaminated with beetle eggs, and that is very easy for you to do.

Those are some tips on preventing beetle larvae that stick to the leaves of plants, hopefully useful. Thank you very much.
