How To Balance The Work / Career and Personal Life| Do It In Just Two Steps

Managing work / career / academic life and personal life is sometimes a dizzying thing and feels very difficult. Most adults recognize that their work / career lives interfere with their relationship or family, but vice versa. By being able to balance work / career and personal life, you can be a more productive person, and not easily depressed. To be able to balance it, careful planning and solid preparation are needed, but this can still be done.

1) Effective time management

In this case, try to separate the time working with playing time. In the present era (the digital / internet era) allows you to study and work through the internet, you can easily spend a day at home and do everything. Taking classes or working remotely can even make your home life more flexible. However, the bad side is that office work or academic assignments can be carried home and disrupt family activities. It will be difficult to avoid when you can access work easily. In addition, without a clear separation between personal life and work, it will be difficult to move from office life to personal life. So to overcome this, you need a different area or workspace.

If you work or attend an (school) class from the internet, it's a good idea to work at a coffee shop, or a community center for students and remote workers. After you have finished working or taking classes (school), you can leave the place so you can feel the change from work / school life to personal life.

If you have to work from home, try to choose and provide a separate special place for you to work to complete your work. You can use the workspace in the room, or other special places. If you sometimes work elsewhere, don't ask yourself to work in the same place.

If you work in an office building, make sure you find a special way to move from work life to personal life after work ends. For example, you can listen to music or electronic books on the way home from work, visit the fitness center for short exercise, or contact friends for small talk.

2) Set priorities

In order for you to succeed in balancing your work and personal life, you need to understand your priority position. In this way, if at any time you encounter an emergency situation, you will not be confused to decide what is most important to you.

Make a list that covers the most important aspects of your life. You can of course include things like family, romantic relationships, work, and spirituality. You can also include aspects such as volunteering, keeping active, maintaining social relationships or following other interests.

Review the list and list the aspects you wrote with the most important aspects in number 1, the second most important aspect in number 2, the third most important aspect in number 3, and so on. This sequence will show what is your priority. This way, you can be sure to involve or incorporate these important aspects in your daily life and weekly schedule.
