"Sharing Burdens, Lightens Loads"

In the years past, much of my time was spent dark pursuits,
Chasing.
Never to be enjoyed again, I wasted the days of my youth,
Thrown away.

Why did I do this, why not see the effects of what I was
Wasting?
How could I not take heed to the wisdom my Elders tried to share,
What they had to say?

I suffer the consequences; My health is lost due to my own
Folly.
My spirit is regaining some of my joy, sometimes once more
Jolly.

Time will only tell, if the damage was too severe; if things will begin
To mend.
Each day is a new avenue to share with others, experiences
To blend

LOVE LIFE, LOVE ONE ANOTHER, Speak TRUTH, be fair and
Kind.
Help each other face each day, Share the burdens you see.
No doubt you have burdens too, but I’m sure that you will
Find;

Helping others with their load, will
Lighten the one you bear.
