Motorcycle riding has become a culture in society
Depok district of Sleman district. When driving a motorcycle
done in pairs, the majority community chose men as
the driver even though women can also drive it. Based on p
the purpose of this study was to determine the factors of men
which dominates in motorcycle riding and how the analysis
culture of motorcycle riding in a gender perspective in Depok sub-district
district of Sleman.
This research uses descriptive qualitative research method.
Source of data obtained through words and actions, written sources as well as
photo. Data collection techniques used in this study are
interviews, observation, and documentation. The main source in this study
is a community living in Depok district of Sleman district
using a motorcycle in its activities. The technique of selecting the informant
used is purposive sampling technique. The technique of data validity using
source triangulation techniques. Data analysis technique using analysis model
interactive which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and
conclusion.
The results of this study indicate that in driving a motorcycle
people pay attention to prevailing norms such as ownership of MIS
and customary actions in rigging. There are several more male factors
choose to be a rider among others: masculine identity on the bike
motors, views of greater men's responsibilities, strength
men are bigger than women, not yet women
