Finally Team Srilanka broke the loosing streak by beating Top ranked ODI team England convincingly in the 5th ODI.Srilanka ended the series on a high note. England won the series with a margin of 3-1.

In the absence of Eion Morgan Joss Buttle led English side. Srilanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Srilankan openers provided a great start. Both openers made brilliant fifty. The first wicket went down at 137 runs when Samarawickrama was clean bowled by Moeen Ali. He made 54 runs. Dickwella was the next man to go. He made brilliant 95 runs. Mendis was the next one to go after making 56 runs.

Captain chandimal played a brilliant innings of 80. It was the first time in the series that all Srilankan top order made fifty plus runs. Middle order added quick runs on the board and helped Srilanka to set a mammoth target of 367 runs. For England Moeen Ali and Curran took 2 wickets each.
In response English openers failed to survive against the classic bowling of Srilankan fast bowlers. In first 10 deliveries England last the 3 top order batsmen. Roy departed after scoring 4 runs, Hales & Buttler didn't add any runs.
