Often people say; "turtles in a boat, pretending not to know".
This is a Malay proverb
you can use in everyday life, both in oral and written form as a parable that has meaning; "Asking something known".

In Indonesia, this proverb is very commonly used to analogize someone who knows something but is silent as if he doesn't know.

I think everyone has done this.
By pretending not to know for various reasons, important or not important.
Everyone has the right to choose what to react to certain situations, including choosing to become a turtle who doesn't know.

A common reason when someone pretends not to know is that he doesn't want to look arrogant.
And prefer to listen to people's conversations because they want to dig more information, knowledge, expertise, and insights from others.
People who pretend in this situation usually end up knowing more than people who speak.

The attitude of pretending not to know, does not only apply in the context of chat.
This attitude also often appears in response to circumstances that occur around.

In other situations, people pretend not to know because they are lazy to respond to the topic being discussed.
This reaction can be caused by many things; the other person likes to show off, the topic is not interesting, or too risky to respond to the conversation.

There are a number of things and a situation of pretending to not know, no need to follow.

• When someone needs help, while you are able to help.
• When a friend is hospitalized.
• When seeing a crime.
• And others.
  In this case, we must care.

For certain conditions, maybe we should allow ourselves to know and express ourselves that we know it. Don't pretend to let alone lie to yourself. Especially if it relates to facts, reality.
Just accept it as a fact that we know and indeed happens.
