စိန႔္လူစီယာႏိုင္ငံသည္ အေရွ႕ဘက္ ကာရစ္ဘီယံပင္လယ္ အတြင္းတြင္ တည္ရွိေသာ ကြၽန္းႏိုင္ငံ တစ္ႏိုင္ငံ ျဖစ္ၿပီး အတၱလႏၲိတ္ သမုဒၵရာ ႏွင့္ နယ္နိမိတ္ ေနရာတြင္ ရွိသည္။ အန္ေတးကြၽန္း အငယ္စားမ်ား၏ အစိတ္အပိုင္းျဖစ္ၿပီး စိန႔္ဗင္းဆင့္ကြၽန္း၏ ေျမာက္ဘက္ႏွင့္ အေရွ႕ေျမာက္ဘက္၊ ဘာေဘးဒိုးစ္ႏိုင္ငံ၏ အေနာက္ေျမာက္ဘက္၊ မာတင္းနစ္ႏိုင္ငံ၏ ေတာင္ဘက္တို႔တြင္ တည္ရွိသည္။ ကုန္းေျမဧရိယာ ၆၂၀ စတုရန္းကီလိုမီတာ (၂၃၈ စတုရန္းမိုင္) ရွိၿပီး ၂၀၀၉ ခုႏွစ္ ခန႔္မွန္းခ်က္ အရ ခန႔္မွန္းေျခ လူဦးေရ အားျဖင့္ ၁၇၃ , ၇၆၅ ခန႔္ မွ် ရွိသည္။ ၿမိဳ႕ေတာ္မွာ ကက္စထရီၿမိဳ႕ ျဖစ္သည္။ စိန႔္လူစီယာႏိုင္ငံသည္ အာသာလူးဝစ္ႏွင့္ ဒဲရက္ေဝါလ္ေကာ့ ဆိုေသာ ႏိုဘယ္လ္ဆုရွင္ ႏွစ္ဦး၏ ေနထိုင္ရာ ႏိုင္ငံ ျဖစ္သည္။ လူဦးေရ အခ်ိဳးအစား ႏွင့္ ၾကည့္ပါက ဖာ႐ိုးကြၽန္းၿပီးလွ်င္ ႏိုဗယ္ဆုရသူ အမ်ားဆုံး ႏိုင္ငံ ျဖစ္သည္။ေလညာကြၽန္းမ်ားထဲမွ တစ္ကြၽန္းျဖစ္ေသာ စိန႔္လူစီယာ ႏိုင္ငံသည္ ပထမဆုံး ဥေရာပသား ကိုလိုနီနယ္ ရွာေဖြသူ ျပင္သစ္ႏိုင္ငံမွ စိန႔္လူစီကို အစြဲျပဳ၍ နာမည္ မွည့္ေခၚထားျခင္း ျဖစ္သည္။ သူတို႔သည္ ေဒသခံ ကာရစ္ လူမ်ိဳးမ်ားႏွင့္ ၁၆၆၀ တြင္ သေဘာတူ စာခ်ဳပ္ လက္မွတ္ ေရးထိုးခဲ့ၾကသည္။ အဂၤလန္မွ ထိုကြၽန္းကို ၁၆၆၃ မွ ၁၆၆၇ ခုႏွစ္ အထိ သိမ္းယူ ထိန္းခ်ဳပ္ထားခဲ့သည္။ ေနာက္ပိုင္းႏွစ္မ်ားတြင္ အဂၤလန္ႏွင့္ ျပင္သစ္တို႔ စစ္ပြဲ ၁၄ ႀကိမ္မွ် ျဖစ္ပြားၿပီး ျပင္သစ္ႏွင့္ အဂၤလိပ္တို႔ ကြၽန္းကို ၇ ႀကိမ္စီ အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္ခဲ့ၾကသည္။ ၁၈၁၄ ခုႏွစ္တြင္ အဂၤလိပ္တို႔က ကြၽန္းကို အၿပီးအပိုင္ ထိန္းခ်ဳပ္ ႏိုင္ခဲ့ၾကသည္။ အဂၤလိပ္ႏွင့္ ျပင္သစ္တို႔ အုပ္ခ်ဳပ္မႈ မၾကာခဏ ေျပာင္းလဲခဲ့သျဖင့္ စိန႔္လူစီယာကို "အေနာက္အင္ဒီ၏ ဟယ္လင္ " ဟုလည္း ေခၚေဝၚေလ့ ရွိၾကသည္။
