Play is the instinctive nature of a child. Playing is a fun and exciting activity. Play helps develop the child's imagination, creativity, ability to solve problems and improve social skills.
By using imagination, they create a trust to play that allows children to have control over their world while playing. A child can play alone, play with other children, but have limited interaction, or two or more children can actively play together, share experiences.
Playing activities are basically children doing simple actions to explore activities. Constructive or creative play is when children use certain objects or toys to create something new (like building a tower from a block toy).
An imaginative game is when children pretend to behave like everyone else (like playing house-house). The game with rules like playing hide and seek is also a form of game.
Play is important because it supports the cognitive, emotional, physical and social development of children. But unfortunately with the development of the current lifestyle causes a decrease in play time in children.
Preschoolers can develop their vocabulary and language skills while playing. They can develop their fine motor skills by playing clay, stringing beads or other activities. Rough motor skills can be developed by playing ball, jumping rope and walking.
Playing with others enables children to learn how to work in a team, share, negotiate, listen and resolve conflicts. Playing alone can also train your child in making decisions, exploring their imagination and creativity and discovering new interests.
