Good day everyone, hope you people are exploring the world of steemit and wishing you people success in all your endeavours.

Like the title says, harmattan is here again and there is feeling and atmosphere that comes with it. What is this harmattan?
Harmattan is a dusty and dry wind which blows from Sahara over the Atlantic ocean of west Africa from ending of November to early February.
Am from Nigeria located in West Africa in Africa continent and from ending of November which is usually dry season, we experience harmattan which comes with strong dry wind that raises dust which could obstruct visibility. This harmattan comes with the feeling of Christmas as everybody knows Christmas is near. During this period, we normally have very hot afternoon, heavy dusty wind in the evening and extreme cold in the night. While in the morning there is cold, dew with chilling early morning breeze. People don't joke with their sweater during harmattan period in the night and taking bath in the morning with cold water is like being put into freezer. One thing i like about harmattan period is because of Christmas celebration, the festive mood that accompanies Christmas.

Harmattan period predispose people to sneezing and coughing because of dust thereby causing irritation of the respiratory tract.

During this period people normally suffer from cold, catarrh and cough. There is reduce visibility for drivers and pilots while many people wear sunglasses to prevent dust from entering their eyes.
Hope you will find this interesting, together we can make steemit greater
