One of the advantages of Android than IOS is that mobile phone makers can easily 'take' the OS to be used in the phone, but now Google tightened rules to use the OS.

Now, mobile phone makers must be certified if they want to run basic applications (GApps) on the Android operating system. If the vendor fails to comply with this rule, the phone will not be able to run the GApps.

This rule has been around for a long time, but many mobile phone vendors are ignoring this rule, because they can still inject GApps into their phones, or even ask their cell phone buyers to do it themselves, but it can not be done anymore.

In addition to impacting on mobile phone manufacturers, this rule also affects users who like to mengoprek cell phone by using a custom ROM. Because Google is secretly starting to block access to GApps for devices with custom ROM that firmware was made after 16 March.

On the device there will be a warning mentioning that the device is not certified, and users can not log into their Googlen account. Fortunately Google still provides waivers for them, as quoted from Engadget, Wednesday (28/3/2018).

The trick is to register the device ID into whitelist every user doing factory reset. But this whitelist number is also limited, only 100 ID, and this is a problem for users who diligently do factory reset to install new firmware.
