It happens the past days and weeks of our life can be described with a couple of words. But sometimes people (by overflowing with an abundance of certain feelings) write novels or make films about only one short day. Probably something similar happens to me. I am doing the second post on the theme "One day in Rhodes"
We leave the city bus in the port area. The main goal of our small group is the ancient citadel. But why are my companions rushing to the yacht docking? My God, they are fans of yachts. Both of them really like yachts. They inspect each ship in a lively discussion of its characteristics. This is not my topic, I'm bored ...
With incredible efforts I manage to divert the attention of my friends from their passion and we head towards one of the entrances to the citadel. It seems that we have chosen the most spectacular way. As we move along the former serf ditch, we discover the magnificent views of medieval fortifications.
What a variety of architectural styles and historical eras! Remnants of ancient Greek buildings, Byzantine walls and basilicas, Romanesque and Muslim period ...
This is the palace of the Great Master! These are the streets along which the Crusaders walked. Fantastic, I have a feeling that moved into the past.
I go to a normal house. Over the knightly coat of arms to the archaic switch stretches electrical wire. The boy sits on ancient stone steps. He plays the game on his tablet. Time is moving according to its laws ...
How old is this portal? How many people have passed through it?
Here you can make movies without making scenery. The director will only need costumes and good actors.
Crafty waiter persuades us to visit his tavern. He promises a wonderful gyros for two euros and almost free beer. We are persuasive. All are enjoying a food. The waiter brings a check. What a sham! Beer for 10 euros and 8 gyros!
The day is coming to a close. Time is running out. We have to go. Goodbye Rhodes!

So beautiful, @mister-omortson ! The summer blue sky captured in your photographs are absolutely enchanting and I find myself sighing, I wish I was at Rhodes ! It is winter here in Australia, and we have a lot of rain and cloudy days, and looking at your post gives me a little bit of summer back into my eyes :D
The city seems ancient too, I wonder of all the lives that had happened and all the people that had been.... It gives me a slight chill....
