In Indonesia alone there are 3 variants of cloves based on plant morphology. All three also produce different types of oil.

There is clove oil produced from clove flower, clove leaf oil produced from clove leaf distillation and clove stem oil produced from clove handle. The oil contains eugenol acetate, eugenol and caryopylene. This substance is often used for the basic ingredients of perfume.
